How to remove the front seat

There is a 10mm bolt on each side. Open the seat as if you were filling the gas tank and you'll see them down low. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Carb sync issues on an '88 Vmax

I'm trying to sync my carbs with a new Motion Pro tool. The picture shows where the fluid stays no matter what I do. If I turn the A/F stews on #4 or #2 all the way in the bike acts like it will stall. #1 or #3 turning the A/F screw all the way in does nothing. Bike sounds normal at idle and...

    More Fuel Pump Issues???

Sounds like one of the small diaphragms in the pump has come loose. Mine kept doing this until I changed the diaphragm. Have you double checked both diaphragms? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Yeah, I'll try that. Runs like a raped ape again but pops a lot. Tomorrow I'll try to sync. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

A/F mix screw stuck. Will a 1300 Venture carb fit?

Thanks Danny for the quick turn around on my carb! I got them back in and it's running much better. Now my issue is excessive popping and backfiring but I'll research that tomorrow. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

A/F mix screw stuck. Will a 1300 Venture carb fit?

I've been reading and trying to get the A/F mixture screw out of the right rear carb. Can't get it out. My question is this: can I buy a 34mm carb from a 1300 Venture, dusassemble both carbs, swap the jets and replace just one carb?

Ideas to remove stripped rotor bolts.

I had a similar situation and I put a skinny chisel in my impact driver. As I hammered it cut a grove in the bolt head and finally loosened the bolt. It took a long time but I got 3 Philips bolts out that way. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

What to do when your fuel pump clicks like a SOB

I had the same issues with mine popping out every hundred miles or so. I replaced the diaphragm with one out of an old venture fuel pump. The venture diaphragm was thicker than the vmax original but it has worked very well.

Is this possible with our mirrors ??

I could be wrong but doesn't the mirror have a nut you can lock against the mount? If not just put a nut on it.

    Blew up my Max

Sounds like the driven cam in the middle drive gear. Not expensive part but you'll have to pull the engine and split the case to get at it.

    hard starting after riding

If it's not charging it could be the stator or the regulator. There are threads here on checking both.

    hard starting after riding

I'd check the 3 stator wires first. The connectors are known for getting hot if they aren't clean. I solder mine on any bike I get.

    Desparate for help

I'm no expert but I had a very similar situation on another V4 Honda Magna. Started fine but after a minute or so it smoked out of both pipes. I pulled the carbs off again ( for the third time) and cleaned them extremely thoroughly. It stopped the smoking completely. The bike had been sitting...
