i need to change my levers as they are to far out from the grips.I've looked on e-bay but cannot seem to find any that do ones for an 89 model only later.Anyone bought any and got an address for me would be good.thanks

I think they are called knee protectors.I had some on my bike when i got it and removed them as i preferred the look of my bike without them.You cover the cost of postage and i'll send you them.

No i didn't have one and the haynes manual was useless.The owners manual explains it all.Thanks again.

OK now i know where it is,I never thought of looking there as any other bike iv'e had that was the lights on/off.I should have realised that it being an import to UK that has lights on all time there was no lights on/off. So thanks for pointing it out to me folks.

Out on bike and bike stopped as in it thought it had no fuel (fuel light on).I checked and there was some fuel in the tank but could not find how to get it on reserve?Anyone got the answer,any bike iv'e had before had a fuel tap to turn to reserve but nil on my vmax.

Seen this on e-bay 2 weeks ago whilst looking for the one i have now.(it's re-listed) That is not only the worst looking vmax iv'e ever seen but the worst looking bike iv'e ever seen.I was truly shocked that someone could do this to a bike.:ummm:

Thanks to Rawarrior for the diagram,I was unsure about the 09 R1 regulator i bought as it had a 5th connector and was unsure which terminals to put red/black.Off to do this now and get out for a ride as it is a nice sunny September morning and it's not often we get them in the UK. Update. Well...

I've been looking at these,i bought Del's for my 1200 Bandit last year and was impressed.They sound way better on the Max tho.I like with baffles in,in my opinion they have a better tone.

I believe that my 1989 max has a R1 front caliper conversion.If i am wrong can you put me right on what the calipers are off (see pic).I am looking to buy front wavy discs and i cannot seem to find any for that year.Any help locating someone who sells these appreciated.
