how lean of a main jet can u go

Can u post ur dyno sheets that show where u are at. Are u going to fenders to get it ran? As i have been dynoing my bike i have noticed differences in the numbers vs. Engine temp and oil temp. With only a difference of two hp that not a huge deal. Bring it by the big barn sometime so we can...

    crazy stand off/reversion

I do use velosity stacks but just removed them for testing. I know that with the stacks there is still standoff. Hey shaun do u think that if i used ur airbox setup that i would gain any just from the airbox and not indy filters. I already have the air correctors and the stg. 7 needles.

    crazy stand off/reversion

I noticed when running my bike on the dyno with the carb stacks off that i am having some pretty bad standoff/reversion i was wondering if anyone has tried torque cones to help this. I know some people have used them for harleys but not with huge results. I think that if i fix this a bit then...

got some #'s on my 1300

From about 7000 up it goes to 13.5 the 13.8 so I think a jet size or 2 would be good for it and midrange it goes to about 12.5 so some more adjustment there too. I got about 2000 miles on it now so i hope it wold be broken by now I'm pretty happy it feels great runs awesome and yes I will love...

    Are all Cams Equal?????

If your battery reads that then its toast anything over 12.8 is cause for concern. Get the battery load tested to tell for sure

    Are all Cams Equal?????

What type of cams do you have and what's the static comp. Of it also. And does the noise come from the left side more or can u hear it directly from the cam area

Finally got my motor back together.

Ya I already did the inital brake in on the dyno as per the moto man method but i would still like to get 500 on her and get the oil and filter changed and then rape the shit outa her lol. So I got about two more days of riding and should be good to go.

Finally got my motor back together.

its a vmax block bored to 1300 and i think compression is around the 10.75 range or just a bit higher(got all of my notes at work). Ya when I put on our dyno to check and adjust a/f I did a little recording of WOT and stoped at 6K and HP was 98 with a very steep line going up and tq was 82 at...

Finally got my motor back together.

Got everything back together and got her running. So far so good. I love how people ask me if i notice any big power difference from before when it has been a year and a half sine i rode it, and working on Harleys all day riding this thing is just amazing.

    Finally the cam timing specs.

If I had the big bucks to get cams reground I would have done that but I think that this will work out for me. I like doing this kind of stuff anyway.

    Cam degreeing

It is pretty easy once you find true top dead center. I sloted my own cam sprockets so I am also adjusting for my added compression. If you change the bore or the stroke you will add compression. I would say that you would do good with around 55* IVC to get closer to a good corrected compression.

    Finally the cam timing specs.

both rear cams were right on with their timing dots but i wana see how the specs of the front cams may differ like by manufacturing and other factors.

    Finally the cam timing specs.

All timing events measured at .053''. And just about done gotta figure out what directions i wana go with the cam timing and then snug it down and put the covers on and throw that beast in the frame. I so miss not having my bike.

    Finally the cam timing specs.

I used a degree wheel and piston stop to get true top dead center, which by the way is spot on with the timing mark on the rotor. Intake: Open @ 11.5* BTDC Duration 230.5* Close @ 39* ABDC Lobe center 103.75* Exhaust Open @ 41* BBDC Duration 235*...

    Valve stem size

I dont have my valves here in front of me and I need to order a valve guide pilot to cut my valve seats I think they are 5.5mm? or if any one happens to have a guide that they could lend out for a neway cutter with a .375 top. thanks

Old Wives Tale or is there some truth???

I don't think that you will notice any increase in hp or tq but mabie just a small increase of throttle responce but even then it will be minimal. just like many of the other things that we do, does any of them make a difference well we would like to think so.

    What causes glazing on rotors/pads?

A quick easy way to see if the calipers are dragging is to go for a ride and not use the front brakes, when you get back see if the rotors are HOT if they are ok to touch with your hand then they are ok, most of the time you always have brake drag but it is small. I got SBC HH pads and they work...

    Valve seat cutting

I was wondering if anyone had the smaller cutting heads for the exhaust valve. I have one that will fit for the intake but the exhaust is so small that none of my cuttters will get close. I know that machinest can do it but I cut seats on Harley heads all the time and I know how to do it and I...
