Who knows more about this conversion?

Thanks, yes this seems to be it. I love this look, and the modding isn't even that extreme. I would buy the tank-saddle-fender assembly if it were for sale...

I'm kicking this one, if I may. Still looking for more details on this. Thanks!

15 or 16 inch front wheel options? Gen 1

is there anyone out there running a smaller size front? If so which? Someone said that 80's Ventures might be an option, but they are 18's. Yes, i like balloon tires :biglaugh:

    Typical Voltage drop while cranking

+10 dead battery. But do a bit more than just putting a gel battery in, there's an excellent write-up in the how-to section: - crimp fix (but I would just wire directly r/r to battery with better gauge) - r/r itself since you have an 85 - get your multimeter out and get a feel for where the...

Who knows more about this conversion?

Must be a one-off then. I've not seen a conversion that curves so much around the rear wheel. I love the look of it, but its rare obviously. Maybe a winter project some day...

Who knows more about this conversion?

Not sure, i thought it was a cut down seat based on the standard seat frame. But what about that fender? Is that made from scratch or is it an existing part made to fit the V-max?

Who knows more about this conversion?

Wait! You need to know that the seat is actually made from soft Japanese girl's handpalms! :signlies:

Who knows more about this conversion?

I came across this picture of a Vmax that is probably done in Japan. There was a link to www.kid-cf.com that has a similar Vmax on its website. Does anyone know more about this amazing conversion, and whether it is a one-off? The fender/saddle is awesome!

Not sure where to go next on electrical issue

Never tried, but if I google "Motorcycle dolly trailer" I get a world of pics of people who do. Check this guy out:

Not sure where to go next on electrical issue

here's another idea. If your charging system checks out OK after a road test, but it still tends to stall, i would check the coils. The shop manual explains how to check resistance in the coils (similar to stator) and on top of that check the connections on them. If they are less than perfect...

Not sure where to go next on electrical issue

Funny. Looks like we have been working on the same issue this week. You can read my post in the HOWTO section. But where my problem was solved by attending to the wiring/grounds. Yours appears to still exist. 1 You have 13+ at 1000 rpm. Is this idle? My idle rpm was too low and it makes a...

How to: Fix your Vmax's low voltage or charging problems

Done. It is 1000 for a 1993. And it will stay there :) My next project; LED DRL lights and a switch so I can choose whether I run 10Watt LED or the Original 55W headlight. LEDs will normally not beam very Well in the distance. But they DO make you visible during the day.

How to: Fix your Vmax's low voltage or charging problems

Did another test tonight...just a quick one; it is FREEZING here! @Miles; done the complete crimp delete straight to battery thing before my posts. Thick gauge wires, soldering, crimped it all in snuggly. Before turning ignition: 12,7V (-> Healthy!) Cold start, choke on, 1000 rpm: 14,0V...

How to: Fix your Vmax's low voltage or charging problems

The battery is the stock item. I have no idea how old it is because it came with the bike when I bought it in October '14. But... It's well-maintained. Filled to the brim. Tested 12,6V with ignition off and during start it stays above 10V (load test). I'm getting good Volts >2000 rpm. But...

How to: Fix your Vmax's low voltage or charging problems

Worked through this post and its been fun. I've had several incidents where I couldnt re-start the bike after a ride. Summary of what I have done: - Finned r/r (was on the bike already, mine is a '93) - deleted the connector between stator and r/r - ran a direct wire from r/r to battery (both...

    Sidestand shortening question

Risking a little "off-topic" here...what have you done to your bike that would require a 1,5 inch shortening of the side stand??

Deleting rear fender - Lights under grab bar, How??

OK! got the job done: 2 round tail lights mounted on a back plate from eBay + 40x40mil Alu 90 degree angled bar from local HW store. And the rest was all about sawing, drilling and filing: Pretty chuffed here
