I would check with Sean Morley (Morleys Muscle) here on this forum. IIRC he used to do some work on seats, if not I would suspect he knows who does. I've done business with him before and I highly recommend him. My guess is this will get you some good options or at least a point in the right...

    New owner

I had a Corbin like this one on my gen1 when I got it, It felt great for the first few minute but brutally uncomfortable for anything more than a jaunt to town (scenic route about 45 min each way). I found it way too hard. I think narrower riders tend to struggle more with the unusually...

Drag racing questions for Gen 1 vmax

I had the same crappy 25mpg and raw fuel smell, even had a stumble at 4k. It was jetted quite a bit too rich. It seems that jetting kids from DJ have an inlay which guides tuners to get it way to fat, also from the factory they are jetted a bit fat. At 4000' I had to lean it out several...

    Hello, everyone!

Tennessee bike boneyard, and they're for sale

Candy store for adults. The title thing can be a pain but some states really are not bad, depending on the circumstances that separated the scoot from it's former owner in the first place, there could be unrecovered stolens along with the unloved and unservicable. With luck there is a stack of...

    This seems bad...

I'll bet no difference would be felt between this pipe and a new one under normal riding conditions.

    Best stock carb kit

I got my K&L kits off Ebay and have only good things to say about them (the kits, not Ebay). K&L are a Japanese aftermarket mfr where the other off branded/unbranded kits are typically seen on Ebay are of Chinese origin.

    Newbie from Wales (UK)

Welcome John! The learning curve is fun, heres one of many threads where starting troubles are discussed. https://www.vmaxforum.net/threads/vmax-wont-start-please-help-me-first-time-owner.47388/ Folks not used to carbureted vehicles may forget that carb equipped vehicles usually have a choke...

What's the biggest thing you carried on your motorcycle?

Relax gents, it's only an OEM HD motorcycle beer cooler, a rare option offered with AMF models haha. He looked pretty steady there considering the load. Love it.

    Hard down-shifting

When shifting gets notchy and N gets a little bit elusive I change oil. Shift quality is how I gauge when my oil is spent enough to warrant a change. I use conventional Rotella 15w 40 but I know blends and full synth are also popular.

    Whatcha Carrying?

Colt A90 Pocket 9, bone stock stainless for normal days, a Ruger 1911 for go-to-town days.

    Knock knock 😣

I was about to suggest a Venture motor, 100 extra CC, also there are some slightly different gear ratios with the Venture lump. If your liking the open road the way I do then those Venture ratios could be more friendly. The Venture also has a more highway friendly final drive ratio which can...

    1st Gen V-Max 1997 custom Vmax

Hands down the coolest retro/cruiser workover I've seen on a VMX. I like the smooth clutter-free profile. Very tastefully done!

Motorycle For Sale 05 20th anniversary bike for sale Williamsburg Ohio

No hate, on the contrary it's a nice ad with great pics, and a handsome machine just looking for the right buyer, I can sure appreciate that. I hope the OP does not interpret any negative connotations in my question. I can assure none were intended. I place a high degree of value on rationale...

    1st Gen V-Max 2000 vmax

I think your right, I found the purple rear fender off the 85 just now, it looks almost black in a poorly lit room, in the sun like midnight blue with a little less purple than I recall on the tank. The OP's bike looks stunning, a perfect shade of blue IMHO, much better than this 85 fender...

Burning question, how much value is added with the anniversary badge and VIN with all else being equal?
