    1200 running hot

I second that. I assume you are hitting this with an IR gun while the bike is idling? If so fatten the mix up a little on the hot cylinder, it should cool slightly.

    Carb synchronising

He's gone to the trouble of very clearly going through the process in perfect detail so I won't screw it up with my version. Check this thread from Dannymax if you're having trouble syncing carbs. https://www.vmaxforum.net/threads/carb-sync-procedure-for-carbtune.43398/

Full face helmet plus a N-95 mask and Nitrile gloves?

Don't you have an overheating motorcycle to attend to?

    New paint

I'm a stickler for metal finish on the scoops, but that looks good! Nice job!

Long Distance Rides - What to watch out for??

I'd take care of the oil pickup o-ring. Definitely make sure your ignition coils aren't showing any cracks in the plastic.

    Supercharged vmax

Shadetree has a great channel. I remember that bike making some awesome sounds when I first watched that video. Check out his vids starring the Kawi H2 powered chopper his friend built. That thing is another ripper!

    3 SETS OF EBC FA88 PADS, 2 FA88HH AND 1 FA88V/THESE HAVE SOLD

You put these up at exactly the right time! I'll take them if they're still available.

    Exhaust clearance

My Hindle 4-2-1 has the same problem on the rear cylinders. The headers are about an 1/8" or a 1/16" from the plastic battery box. If I let it warm up too long it melts the box near the header pipe. I am on my third E-bay battery box. (thanks Pinwall Cycle!)

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

I think he's joking because it says "EX" between the valve reliefs

Carb part (?) ID, please help!

Yo, Fire-medic! It's been a long while. Hope you are doing well in these crazy times. It is exactly like a choke rod bushing in shape and material, only about three times their size. https://www.instagram.com/p/B_F0AocATck/?igshid=1h1visf6e5my8

Carb part (?) ID, please help!

Clif's notes- bike has been apart for far longer than I intended. Just got around to fully rebuilding each carb and racking them up. I have no extra parts, except this. It is made of nylon or some sort of stiff but slightly flexible plastic type material...

Installing COPs inc. removing OEM coils pt1

I have one in my backpack, and they can be changed without tools if required. Less weight (although a minor concern...which is why after 20 minutes of cursing the two front coils are still where the factory installed them!)

    Spanner wrench

That's the one I picked up. Works great, and it also works on BMW R bikes (and a ton of others I'm sure)

What is the tunin deal goin on here?

Make sure the flat stamped throttle bar that links the left bank to the right bank is installed correctly. When I first put mine back together I had it flipped around and managed to bend it a tiny bit. That caused exactly the symptoms you are describing.

    Lucky 3's

Hah! I do the same thing. My friends all thought I was crazy when I made them all stop so I could get a pic of lucky 7s!

    Where to find Igniton Coil

Juha, what Steve is asking you to do is switch the connectors going from coils to the harness. The cylinder with the misfire should be cold on the exhaust pipe (it definitely won't match the three that are running well). If you were to switch coil wires the cold exhaust pipe should also...

So, the Max got a stablemate on Saturday

I'm starting to feel like I'll never find out. We're getting another noreaster right now. I had to wait 4 weeks to go get the bike because of snow, and now it keeps snowing when it should be warming up! :bang head::bang head: I was very interested in the Gen 2 Vmax until I sat on one at...
