    Spoked rear wheel

It's entirely possible to machine a new hub and spoke it to a generic rim

    Virago's "Box-O-Rocks"

I have had a couple of these and currently have an XV1000 TR1 to be either restored or converted to a Cafe Racer. The TR1 has a chain drive unlike the others with an enclosed case around it to keep it clean. There's probably not a lot of the TR1's kicking around now.

    Running twin webers 40 idfs

I'd be keen to produce something if you're into it Sean, I have a couple of ideas

    No gears

I can make one no problem and you could get it from Sean although I don't think it's such a smart move. Consider it a fuse, when it blows you put another one in. If you make it unbreakable then something else next in the chain is going to go bang, possibly inside the transmission. I know I'd...

    Better Horn

Yesterday on the way to work some bozo pulled out of a side street in front of me which I had to take evasive action. I unleashed about 10 seconds of decibels followed by a middle finger. It was truly wonderful

    Better Horn

I have a stebel or clone horn which I placed under the faux tank cover amongst the pod filters. It doesn't hinder the sound as it's LOUD and is neatly tucked out of view

1985 Vmax 2nd gear repair - Looking for advice from seasoned techs

As Sean said those dog teeth and its mate are mashed, my friend. Replace those and anything else that looks remotely suspect, you don't want to pull it down again

    New project

You could argue yes that changing deck height or even head gasket thickness will affect cam timing to some degree. That being said, chain wear, sprocket wear, manufacturing tolerances all come into play and the differences are minute that it doesn't throw the marks off to any great amount. Given...

    New project

Drew up a stainless steel bracket for the speedo mount and wire cut it out and then bolted it on

    New project

Finally going to put it all together now. Built the engine over Xmas, this is basically a XVZ1300 hybrid thingy with Vmax bits, it goes together ok with a few mods to the stator winding position etc but no big deal. The deck has been machined to bring the compression up as these run a lower...

    Valve tool

Well, I had one somewhere but couldn't find it just when I need it putting my project motor together. They are expensive on ebay and I don't want to wait for one so the next best thing is to make one. Took a stab at the dimensions from a picture and drew it in Solidworks and wire cut it (edm)...

    New project

Decided to put a Harley style front end on it. None of this of course was possible without my trusty apprentice and inspector.
