    Value of a 1997 ?

Harleys ALWAYS sell quicker and better good bikes or no, they have name recognition. VMax is a great bike, but in the end they are still yamahas, which overall I believe to be a better made machine (as the old ad used to say) doesnt necessairily translate to the used market

How to build a vmax trike

    I had a 71 suicide door also a 63, and 2 68s...the 68 was my favorite with the 429 Thunderjet. What'd you have in your 67?

How to build a vmax trike

I saw one that looked pretty good, but I'll stick with my 09 Venture I think

My new "almost" VMax close as I'll get for now

Man, I remember those days! I was a big fan of Ken Norton, loved that fight between him and Ali. If you ever get a trike consider that Hannigan kit. Well worth the extra cost. You would absolutely love the ride! I always liked the 2 wheeled Venture because of that batwing fairing that moves...

My new "almost" VMax close as I'll get for now

Thanks Guys! Those lowers really make it stand out. I had a tri glide and this hannigan with IRS put it to shame. Was looking for a Venture with a Hannigan and they are few and far between. This was only 60 miles from home. I got extremely lucky. One good ride and I pulled out the cash done deal...

My new "almost" VMax close as I'll get for now

Gettin old, saw this 09 Venture with hannigan kit, loaded up with complete Hannigan ez steer front end extra fuel tank and reverse. Now we ride in comfort, the old V4 running great with only 54000 miles. Wife loves it, and I like it too...smooth ride.

I have an 84 Goldwing Standard which IMO looks pretty good. If there WAS a problem with it someone please tell me what it was other than usual maintenance. Why do people who have NO idea what they're talking about spew off useless nonsense? f

    Covid problem solved

That's what I thought too...then at 46 decided that had to try at least ONCE...that lasted 4 years and a ton of money wasted and yes I did get married again been so for 12 years now and this one looks like it will last. Odds of picking the "right one" out of the gate are high IMO

Possibly buying a V-Max and have mixed feelings, also have some questions.

Sure there's plenty of other later model bikes that have more HP and handle better...THATS NOT THE POINT OF OWNING A GEN 1! I have an 85 ZL900 that doesnt handle too well either it's how it makes me feel riding it up thru the gears and off the line that no other bike can give me...and it's worth...

The Engine Used In A Touring Role

The old v4 on my tour deluxe does just fine. And gets REASONABLY good mileage with a big enough tank to go more than 100 mi on fill ups And I have one of the new touring motors per se on my 06 113 Roadliner which is one of the best cruisers they ever made. I'd say if you want a goldwing get a...

Sold SOLD - 2009 Vmax 1700 Stock at only 8k miles

If I were to buy another Yamaha I would take that used 09 ALL DAY LONG over a new MT-10 or similiar. Those 09s up Gen 2 have got to be IMO the MEANEST looking MFs I have ever run across

2022 MT-10 answer to no more MAX??

Majority of the riding I do now is just simple cruising I LIKE the weight of my Royal Star vs the wind and all the semis she holds the road real nice. But then again other than the early days I have always had large heavy bikes. The Venture is an exception as to me it's too top heavy with that...

2022 MT-10 answer to no more MAX??

These are nice bikes plenty of power but just doesnt do it for me. I'm 68. I'd probably take the big Honda over this or buy a Gen 2 if I were buying. Sold my 94 max several years ago, but still have my ZL900 Eliminator and my 05 V4 Royal Star Tour DeLuxe. And for the kind of riding I do thats...

    2003 FatBoy

Nothin wrong with a fat guy on a little bike as long as it's not TOO little. I'm a lil fat and while an 1100 VStar is certainly not "little" it's def not for me. I like the BIG Yams like the zv1900 Roadliner and the Royal Star v4s. And yes a 2013 HD RG Ultra with a 103 Twin Cam WILL be hot. I...

    2003 FatBoy

I always thought Yamaha made some of the best big cruisers out there overall. Another one to consider may be the 96-04 Royal Star or the 05-09 Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe. VERY comfortable machines (basically a venture with the fairing and trunk removed) But they ARE carb bikes and need...

I've had 3 "Flat" Boys one of HDs best lookin most popular bikes. They look sound and feel great. As long as you're just toolin around locally in say a 50 mi radius. However if you're going to do any RIDING leave the FB in the garage. Damn things are just flat uncomfortable on a 100+ mile ride...

    Finally

I will only say this then no more. I talked to my next door neighbor in FL yesterday, asked him abt covid, he says hospitals are abt full. Now he was dead set against vax. His unvaxed wife tested positive, she's on mend after abt a month, he got the 2X pfizer vax, and she will be getting it...

    Now we're talking ...

I loved the KZ13s, you could get out on the Interstate crack the throttle wide open and ride it at 120MPH all day long. It was so heavy 120 was just cruising on the beast. Here's my KZ1300, as well as a couple shots of my last KZ1000, which I still own.

    Finally

You can go around with this discussion all day long and never agree. I'll do what I feel is necessary and you do the same. My winter plans are simple...ride the south Florida highways and byways and just enjoy life. And if I want to stop in for a beer and a bite somewhere I WILL.
