I have a Blue 1986 Vmax with 30K miles for sale in north Florida. It is a thing of beauty with nothing wrong with it. It's listed in Cycle trader for $5500

I sure wish there was a way to filter out this thread from my daily "Vmax" thread updates. There are plenty of other sites if you want to argue politics.

I'm 62 and live in DAytona Beach. Back in 86 my friend let me ride his max and I knew then it was the ultimate machine. Last year I got the chance to by a toy and I picked up a blue 86. What a machine then and now.

Saw a concert on TV yesterday with Joe Bonamassa... I'll I can saw is wow.

I order a set in blue for my 1986 bluse Vmax. I had put on chrome scoops and it was a lot of chrome so these inlays broke it up nicely.

I Installed chrome scoops from Sean...what other chrome do you guys put on your Max? Mine is an 86 and so far I've put on the scoops and the brake and clutch fluid covers. Is there such a thing as to much chrome?

I may be interested in your rack if you still have it. Any chance you have a picture of it mounted?

I had the same issue and found a replacement stock board on ebay for $65. Best $65 I ever spent. It really woke the bike up.

Picked it up from the shop. Had the carbs cleaned and adjusted. Now if the weather will cooperate.

Yea I got lucky. I have the pipes drilled but kept the end caps solid. I want to keep it as stock as possible. Who knows, maybe someday it will be collectable.

1986 Midnight Blue Vmax

Do I have to separate the differential from the drive shaft or will all that stay together and on the bike? I can't find a video anywhere of a vmax rear wheel removal.

I was going to have my guy mount my new rear tire on my 86 Vmax but he hasn't been able to fit me in. My question is, will the rear tire come off the bike just sitting on the center stand or do I need to get the bike up higher. Also what else needs to come off to get that wheel out of there?

This is good stuff. I'm reading up on the Shoria batter at it warns against leaving a battery tender attached to it once it reaches full charge. I'm currently using on of the small BatteryTender 750MA chargers to maintain my battery. Is anyone else using a tender and do you disconnect it after...

The guy that works on my bike told me about these batteries and their high cranking amps to overcome the hard hot starting of the Vmax. Has anyone tried them and are they worth the money?
