Valve Cover gasket woes and Carb? Problem

To each his own..... If you are going to pull the carbs then plan on replacing the rubber that connects them to the intake manifold. They usually have some dry rot and when you disturb them there are usually problems. For myself, summer is when I prefer to ride so getting it back on the road...

1985 Original Stock VMax for sale $8900

Hate to tell you this but the back wheel is not original. It is a later model, 90's if I'm not mistaken. Front wheel is original, side covers are 85. I have and early 86 and the 85's and 86's used the same rear wheel. Most of these scooters go for about $3500 with 10k miles on them. Just to give...

Valve Cover gasket woes and Carb? Problem

Hard to balance the carbs until they are cleaned out. I use 2 diff methods depending on how long it has sat with fuel in the bowls. As an old timer what I do, with the engine off, is pull the idle mixture screws and shoot carb cleaner in them followed by some compressed air. I then shoot some...

    Vboost issue

When I hold the throttle right at 6000 rpm, the Vboost will accelerate the scooter all on it's own. Good way to test it to see if it is working.... I had to replace my Vboost a few years ago, decided to go with a used unit. Still seems to work fine...

New Member and new Vmax owner

Nice looking scooter.... From the pix there are a lot of mod's to it.... It's ok, that is the fun part of owning an older scooter. The previous owners get to dump $$ down the carb throats and you get the benefits....But, as a 27 year owner I can attest that Black is the best stealth color....

    Electrical Problem.

Had something similar happen to me. Got half way home from the dealer and the electrical system started acting up. Had to pull over. Pulled the seat off and found that a connector had dropped down near the battery just out of sight so the mechanic missed it and the battery was not charging...
