    Steering race removal tool

Just happened to see this on Amazon. I've seen another version but that didn't look like it would work since the spreaders were too thick to get between the face and shoulder. This one has ends that are only 1/32" but not sure if it would work or not. I usually use a dremel with diamond cutting...

    Crankcase bolt sizes

Morning all, I have my upper bolt template made and just want to confirm bike has correct sizes in correct locations before I pull it all apart. Clymer seems to have it wrong and Yamaha manual doesn't specify which crank bolt number is what size and thinks there are 37 bolts in the Appendix...

    Swing arm lock washer removal

I don't recall having an issue with this on my '89, but the '99 is being a bitch. The tabs of the lock washer are very tight against the left-side pivot bolt. I was going to go get a small cold chisel to create a bit of a gap before going to a small punch but wanted to check here first. Cheers...

    Splitting cases for transmission inspection

Clymer says to remove the cylinder head first. Then, when splitting the cases, lift the top case from bottom; leaving transmission shafts, middle gear, balancer shaft, and crankshaft on the bottom half. Can I just remove the bottom case from the top if I only care about the transmission shafts...

Battery Tender Junior for Odyssey PC680?

Good morning all! I finally got to winterizing the '99 and couldn't get it started; cranking was pretty slow. I took the battery to Batteries Plus to have them charge and test it. It's 10 years old but it might still have a couple of years left. Going forward, I want to add a battery tender...

    Chic Delta wire connectors

I have yet to try these but seem pretty cool. Solder-less. I can hold my own soldering but that doesn’t mean I like to lol. https://chicdelta.com/products/waterproof-solder-wire-connectors Mark Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New option to replacing slides/rubbers

I was reading one of my many moto-magazines and there was a question on what to do when a replacement slide was not available. The first option was replacement rubbers which most of you are already familiar with. The second option was to use Loctite roofing sealant. It sounds like others have...

    Lower steering bearing install

What does everyone used to install the bearing on the steering shaft? I was thinking about getting some pipe but I'm open to suggestions. Cheers. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk

    PVC fork dust cover driver

I bought some 1 1/2" schedule 40 thick wall and it doesn't fit 43 mm forks. Do I need to get the thin wall? I have the forks off the bike and when I bottom the fork tubes they seem to stick...like the rebound spring is sticking. Will a good cleaning and new oil take care of this? I'm using...

    Scorpion EXO-900 Transformer

I bought this through Revzilla 3+ years ago. The other day, I noticed the bottom plastic trim piece that snaps/screws to the shell broke off. The helmet has a 3 year warranty so was initially pissed. I called Scorpion USA and they said just ship it to us and we'll take care of under warranty...

Heavily modded '88 FS in Houston

I'm listing this for a buddy, Don Smith from Houston, TX. Due to recent health, been advised to not ride anymore. So after 27 years with bike I am selling my max. I am asking 7K. Motor alone cost more than 10K. Bought it new in '88. 1327 with 12.8-1 compression, 0-4 cams, 39mm Keihen FCR's...

    Garage stain removal

I have a dump bucket sitting under my kegerator taps in the garage. The wife pulled her vehicle up to far so the bucket flipped over so that a ring of old beer awesomeness is stained into the garage floor. I have tried WD-40 and carb cleaner and nada. Any other ideas? Power washer maybe...

    Tornados in Pilger

In case you didn't hear. Twin tornados devastated a NE town of 300. One of the tornados was on the ground for over an hour. I saw this and thought it was awesome that several pizza joints in Omaha are doing this. Please keep those impacted by this destruction in your prayers...

    Shala Feagins Iron Butt Ride

Jim's wife departed Neosho, MO this morning. I met them at a gas stop in Council Bluffs, IA for a quick hello. I believe they are doing approximately 4200 miles in 6 days. They should be getting close to Sioux Falls, SD by now and will then head west to Seattle. Safe travels!
