    240mm rear tire on Vmax 1700 ???

Ah, thanks. Exactly what I was looking for. I will likely stay with the stock wheel in that case, I see the Cobra Chromes also come in a 200/55-18. I see others saying they are pleased with 130/240 combo, anyone run the 130 front with the 200/50 or 55 rear?

    240mm rear tire on Vmax 1700 ???

Been a while since I've been active on here, I had a 2007 Vmax, sold it and got a BKing, I now have an M109R and FZ10. My next bike to replace these two will likely be a gen 2 Vmax. I recently put the new Avon Cobra Chromes on the M109R 130/70-18 up front and 260/40-18 in the rear. On the...

    CAT Delete/X-Pipe/Collector Assembly

Nice! Thanks again for all the info Itgoes! Any idea what the outside diameter of the Hindle 4-2 slip-on pipes are where the mufflers slip fit?

    CAT Delete/X-Pipe/Collector Assembly

Where did you get the Hindle 4-2-2? I looked on Brock's site and it looked like they only had the single right-side exit, unless they only showed that side. But the description didn't say 4-2-2 or 4-2-1.

    CAT Delete/X-Pipe/Collector Assembly

Thanks for the info Itgoes. Yes, reflash would be part of the plan as well. The angle of the mufflers was also a concern, I want something that more or less comes straight back rather than pointing out. Maybe I can get the V&H CAT delete/link pipes only, so I can use the mufflers of my...

    CAT Delete/X-Pipe/Collector Assembly

Been away for a while, sold my 07 VMAX and got a B-King a few years ago and also now have an M109R. Looking at maybe selling/trading in the M109 for a 2nd Gen VMAX. Just doing some research on what's available as far as exhaust mods for the Gen 2. I tried searching, but did not find anything...

    Need some ideas

While you have the battery out of the bike, would probably be a good idea to get it tested.

    Need some ideas

Gannon here on the forum makes wiring harnesses with a built-in resistor so you can use the Dyna 3000 with COP's. I purchased them from him when I did the mod, the harnesses are very well made, he does an awesome job. http://www.vmaxforum.net/showthread.php?p=165096#post165096

    Need some ideas

Yea, I kept mine on a tender as well, but I never actually took it out of the bike to inspect the acid levels. I may have been able to just fill it back up and charge it, but I just opted for a new battery to eliminate that as a possible issue. I know all of our bikes are different and like...

    Need some ideas

Those voltages look low, may be worth taking the battery out and checking the acid levels and having it tested as well as making sure all of the battery electrical connection points are clean. Probably need to start with the battery, if it is bad, you may not get the correct readings from the...

    Need some ideas

Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see that you had done any battery tests. If the bike ran poorly when stock, and now runs worse after the exhaust and jet kit, it makes sense to me that possibly the battery could be at fault. Since the stock bike was probably more lean than the setup you have...

    Carb Jet Question

I now have Mark's 4-2 headers with LOR 13" mufflers and Sean Morley's jet kit. I actually went down further to the 147.5 mains to get me where I needed to be at WOT above 6K rpm. So yes, it seems odd that you would need to decrease main jet size to increase performance. The thing to remember...

    Carb Jet Question

You have basically what I had, except I had the Supertrapp slip-ons with 8 discs and open end caps. Not sure of the exact comparison between the Supertrapps and the cobras, but I was able to keep everything stock and just went down a size in main jets. I'm not positive since I've haven't...

    Carb Jet Question

In my experience so far, it has been difficult to determine by sound/feel alone whether it is a lean or rich problem. I have noticed that a lean condition causes it to sound like a popping/cracking, while a rich condition makes it sputter and feel sluggish/boggy. So in your case, you probably...

Innovate AFR Gauge. How to install?

Here is a pic of the bung and O2 sensor installed, as is said, the controller is in the open area with the ignition box. I wired the other end so that I could just plug it in to my trickle charger connection whenever I want to use it and attached the gauge to the handlebars with a zip tie.

Innovate AFR Gauge. How to install?

In my case, I didn't want it on the bike permanently due to the fact that there isn't really anywhere to mount it and still have enough length on the wires coming from the 02 sensor. I ended up taking off the left scoop and putting the controller in the open space next to the ignition, I've got...

Innovate AFR Gauge. How to install?

Na, I picked the kit up for $175 on Amazon. I also liked being able to see the changes while I was driving as I normally would, rather than just the static environment of a dyno run. Having that kind of tool at my disposal is a plus too.

Innovate AFR Gauge. How to install?

I have an Innovate Motorsports A/F gauge. I only installed the bung in the front left exhaust. I figured that most of the major parts like main jets, needles, pilot jets should not be different for each carb. So I chose that carb simply because it is the carb we are supposed to tune to when...

    Still cant tune my carbs

Good luck man, I fought with mine for quite a while before I got the A/F kit. The A/F gauge is the best thing to do, you will be able to work with actual data rather than trying to guess what is going on. Some of the symptoms seem to be so misleading, there is no way to figure them out without...
