I know that the 1200 wing stator failure is just a question of when not if. To change it takes a complete engine removal , from what i've heard it's no picnic everyone I know that has done it has told me they would never do it again. I do think there are upgraded stators.

I've had 1 GL1500 and 4 GL1800's I think the wings are the way to go. 1100,s and 1200's seem to have stator problems so I would stay away from them. You can pick up a decent 1500 in the low $4000 range if you are patient , just make sure it has reverse they are heavy bikes.

What service manual can be used for a bike newer than 03. Clymer manuals are listed for 1985 - 2003 , can they be used for 2004 and up.

Just bought it Saturday I think it was a repo. From the outside I know it has Progressive suspension and a supertrapp exhaust. I think I am going to go back to stock with the suspension I feel like i'm sitting on the ground. I love the sound.

541 all the time I think I've been on 555 . If you like curves try 536 out of Hannibal or 26 north from Marietta for curves and some nice covered bridges. 536 will wear you out.
