Thanks for the leads, I will check them both out.

The V-max fuel reserve (guage) explained.

I would personally not leave the switch in the reserve position....there have been several times I have been riding on a bright sunny day and all of a sudden the thing starts to die...I have cupped my hand over the red fuel light, and sure enough its on! I guess what I'm getting at is the fact...

    More Rhetoric

I'm surprised he didn't throw out the V-rod card on ya when you told him you had to have a water cooled bike!

    Front brake pads 2006-squeal!!

I cleaned everything off tonight and put a coat of anti-squeal compound on the piston contact area. Rode for a while and the squeal was definitly less noticable, but still there. I guess after hearing that other 06 models have the same squeal problem, perhaps getting the EBC HH pads is the best...

    Front brake pads 2006-squeal!!

Are the HH pads on the 06 similar to the EBC HH? I have read several posts about the stockers being "junk"?? As for the cleaning and dab of grease, I will give it a try tomorrow....its supposed to rain, I might not be able to test it right away. Thanks for the suggestion, I will give an...

    Front brake pads 2006-squeal!!

Front brakes on my 2006 squeal, unless you really grab a handfull! They are the stock pads and have plenty of meat left on them. I took the pads out today to look at them, and they have "HH Front Only" stamped on them. Looking at previous posts on this forum, I know that everyone recomends EBC...

stock, but has always run rich at idle...

I can always run 120-130 miles in the city....and 130 up on the highway...2 factors though, I do ride with a light throttle and I am not a heavyweight at 162 lbs. When I do fill up it usually takes 3.3 to 3.5 (U.S.) gallons....maybe the reserve light IS a little off! I did the stock exhaust mod...

stock, but has always run rich at idle...

Got my manual out last night....the chart is as follows for carb sync: first 600 miles or 1st month...then every 4000 miles or 6 months thereafter. I will check the carbs, but I can generally get 130/150 miles before I have to switch to reserve,(combo highway&city) which is hard to be angry...

stock, but has always run rich at idle...

Once a month?? by the time you are done you will be able to ride once or twice and have to re-sync!!LOL Seriously, the bike does not run bad...and does not run any different than the day I bought it...but I will borrow a friends sync gauge and have a look at them. Does everyone sync their...

stock, but has always run rich at idle...

Yeah I looked at the plugs at my 4,000 mile service interval....looked sweet....checked gap...dead on...put back in. I'm gonna check / replace them tomorrow--thanks for the input!

stock, but has always run rich at idle...

The carbs have never been sync'd....it always ran so good and strong, that I just assumed like you just stated that due to the big cams and the way it lobes at idle, it just wasn't completely burning off the fuel at idle. Nobody has ever complained about me stinkin while riding....but they sure...

stock, but has always run rich at idle...

Bike-6,600 miles. Air filter, stock-just checked it-clean as the day it was made. never had the sea foam treatment. never changed the plugs. The bike has run this way since the day I brought it home new from the dealer in 2006
