    Low end trouble

I have found vacuum leak. I had a small hole in the air box lid. It was because I used to have long screw to hold carb ventilation hoses. I have fixed it with super glue and my bike works much better now. Thank you guys

    Low end trouble

With more chocke I have more rpm on idle so difficult to say is it better or not. I think it's better with choke. Yes I completely disassembled my carbs and cleaned all channels and jets with ABRO carb cleaner. I have installed new gaskets and o-rings to the jet block. And they were working OK...

    Low end trouble

Boots are installed correctly. Airbox is on it's place with lid and Y on. I agree that it's carbs or a leak. I am trying to close one side of Y and it works better. So it's too lean. I have rised the float level on 0,5 mm but it has became worse. It works same on idle, but the engine stops...

    Low end trouble

I have changed pistons, rings, valves, connection rods, bearings, CARBURETOR JOINT, AIR CLEANER JOINT, air filter. All pars are original from local Yamaha dealership. I've ridden 170 miles after this repair. No changes.

    Low end trouble

I finally assembled my engine few days ago. I've changed a lot of parts during the process. It works strange now. It has normal idle, but when I give it WOT I have a lag. When I’m trying to open throttle slowly it decreases revs and then suddenly revs it up. This lag is on first 1-2mm of...

Middle Drive Shaft Nut Snap ???

This shaft? :biglaugh: I broke it last weekend, in 150 miles from home :surprise: Thanks God it was at low speed. I can't understand why. I ride pretty carefully at that time. No whelle, burnout or teleport :confused2:

    Problem with carburetors at 7-8k

I checked my vent tubes this morning. It is clear and routed correctly. P.S. I also tried 18mm float level today. It is worse at 7-8.5k.

    Problem with carburetors at 7-8k

I will check it. Another thing. It is reproduced only on top gears (3,4,5) when I give it WOT. When engine is hard loaded. I believe diaphragm/needle/spring/float level works in this time. Is it correct? It is 25k miles on my Max. Can it be needle wear or spring weak? How can I check it? I...

    Problem with carburetors at 7-8k

No. :( Pick-up coil has normal resistance too. I think it is carb related problem, because it works fine without "Y" (leaner mix)

    Problem with carburetors at 7-8k

It is not new but seems clean. I blowed it with compressed air. My Max runs better on top revs without "Y", so I believe air filter is clean.

    Problem with carburetors at 7-8k

Yes I have cracks on all coils. I isolate it with silicon. I also measured the resistance. It is ok. I checked minimum spark gap. It is more than 6mm, so it is ok too. HT leads and spark plugs are new (2-3k miles)

    Problem with carburetors at 7-8k

Diaphragms looks fine (no cracks or holes). Small diaphragms looks good too. Spark plugs have light brown color.

I fill loosing a lot of power at this revs. And I have it again at 8k+

    Problem with carburetors at 7-8k

I have a little problem with my carburetors. I tested it with WOT at 5th gear at 4k rpm. I feel a delay before it start accelerating. I also have just a 3 cylinders working at 7-8k. I believe it?s too rich, so I taked of the "Y" from my filter. It is runs better. All cylinders worked without...

    Air Leaks and Carbs

First of all, sorry for my English. I want to say thanks to the gleno. It is a great topic. I found an air leak on the vacum sensor hose. It has small cranks. I just cut 0.5 cm of hose from each side. My Max runs much better now. Thanks again gleno.
