Why so many Vmax's for sale

I always wanted a VMax so I finally bought one, modded it to my liking enjoyed it for what it was/is. Then I decided to start taking the wife along and go on longer rides so....out the door it went and in came a new to me 08 Street Glide. To be honest the only thing I miss about the Max is...

    Laconia 2012!!!

June 11th the Mount Washington Road is open to only motorcycles. We have a bunch of us headed up that day, then hitting the Kangamangus Highway on our way to Weirs Beach should be an awesome time. There is plenty to do all over NH during bike week.

    Harley RWHP

I really don't get why some people give two shits about what someone else likes? You seem a bit on the defensive side in any thread talking about a Harley. I take all bikes for what they are, some I like, some I don't, either way I usually don't get all worked up over it.....kinda wierd to me.

    Harley RWHP

I completely agree with that statement. Front springs, rear shocks, different bars, bar risers and the VMax was a different animal.......I never did get around to upgrading the brakes, which it needed badly.

    Harley RWHP

I am actually very surprised at how well a stock Street Glide handles; it feels very nimble and is quite easy to ride. When my VMax had stock springs and shocks to was a beast to handle and wallowed around corners with a mind of it's own.

    Harley RWHP

I purchased an 08 Street Glide this spring and I have to tell you…I don’t care what it has for RWHP (not much) this thing is just plain awesome. I never realized how uncomfortable I was on the VMax until I rode this. Crank the radio, set the cruise control (which works perfectly), sit back...

    carb synchrizer

I made a DIY unit and used it a couple times, then bought a Motion Pro. I like how compact the off the shelf unit is, but they both worked well.

    Poll, give the gun back??

Keep it....as stated by many others....you asked a fair price for the truck, they knew it was a fair price and offered the gun to seal the deal. I wouldn't give it a second thought. It would be totally different if they paid too much for the truck, tried to talk you down and you suggested...

    carb sync sucks

I have the same tool and have had no issues with it....very strange? Maybe the restrictors are too big?

    Empty trailer

A good friend of mine bought one of those brand new back in the day..... and it hauled ass! At the time I had a 83 XJ750 Maxim (air cooled) and there was no comparison between them. The XJ700X styling was ahead of its time. Awesome Bike!

    Thinking of selling my Max....

In your situation I would sell it and concentrate on the kids.....there can always be another bike in the future. JMHO

need to store my bike for a few months

+2 I store my bike for 4 to 5 months out of the year, I fill it up, add stabilizer of choice, never drain the carbs, put it on a battery tender and fire it up in the spring.

Best "fastest" way to clean motor???

I'll wash the bike with water if needed, dry with a leaf blower and use any automotive spray wax I have on hand. My bike still looks like it's brand new, the motor is perfect no chips or scratches. I use a good carnuba based wax for the paited parts and pipes. No high priced "motorcycle...
