    Valve cover gasket source

I think I know the answer, but should we also set the valves when replacing the gaskets? The bike has 30k and they're untouched.

    Valve cover gasket source

The eBay listing for the valve cover gasket says " 2 required ", yet the photo is of a single gasket joined in the middle. Should I order 2 of them?

    Valve cover gasket source

I've been searching this for an hour unsuccessfully. I need one for my 04 and can't locate a vendor. Could someone post a link? I tried Partzila and got frustrated with their website. Thanks. Jack

    Coolant leak in my 04

Thanks to all, especially Mike for pointing a less than proficient diy'r in exactly the right direction. Hard to go wrong with that kind of help!

    Coolant leak in my 04

So, if I got this right, I'll need O rings and a water pump gasket?

    Coolant leak in my 04

Is the elbow joint a press fit, or how does it come out. By the way thanks for the help. Unlike some mc forums, you all don't get all superior when someone asks what is probably a pretty elementary question.

    Coolant leak in my 04

Started dripping at the elbow joint lower right side. This is the tube that connects the engine to the radiator. Happened in Colorado on my trip. We put aluma seal in it along with a McGiverish section of bicycle inner tube cut to size and a hose clamp. Got home ok, but need to get an idea...

Riding my 04 at high elevation

We will probably be crossing the Cont. Divide at a couple of points and I didn't want to end up staying there indefinitely. Thanks

Riding my 04 at high elevation

Sounds like I'll be okay. Any personal experience with the Vmax in the mountains.

Riding my 04 at high elevation

Thanks Sean. No drag racing. A couple of friends painted a pretty grim image of a carburated bike barely able to make it in the mountains.

Riding my 04 at high elevation

Doing a Colorado trip next month with a friend and wondered what to expect at 9000 to 10000 ft. in terms of how bad it might run. It has a Marks Performance full exhaust and a Sean Morley jet kit,( not sure what #jets) and runs great in Kansas City. Thanks Jack

    New headlight bulb out there

Just a quick update. I did some riding out in the country( no streetlights) at night. Bottom line is the led doesn't throw the light as far as the hid's and is not as bright. I'm installing a DDM Tuning 55 watt hid unit this weekend and will post the results. Jack.

    New headlight bulb out there

Color wise almost exactly what I had with the 55 watt HID. No blue to my eye. Re: the modulator, glad you asked. I was running a Kissan modulator with the Hella. When I asked Kissan about using the modulator with a bulb that has a ballast that fires, they said it should be fine. The tech guy at...

    New headlight bulb out there

Test ride last night, very impressive. No photos, as my camera is an early gen digital and would not produce anything worthwhile. Hard to compare against the HID's on my BMW, because it was a two bulb headlight. I'm gonna call that one a tie. The bulb that was in the Max was a Hella 55\100...

    New headlight bulb out there

Update: Correction on the manufacturer, it's Cyron, not Cree, although apparently Cree is also making an led H4 replacement. The install on mine was not strictly speaking 'plug and play.' My friend the engineer used two sided aluminum tape and did not use the existing spring holder common to...

    New headlight bulb out there

No blue tint, bright white in color. I'm not familiar with the Sylvania bulb, but I do know my DDM Tuning HID set up was way brighter than any halogen bulb I have seen and this one would favorably compare bright wise. Yes, that is the bulb on the link.

    New headlight bulb out there

It's made by Cree, an LED, available so far only in H4 and looks very promising. A friend just installed one on his new Triumph Explorer and I would say it may be slightly brighter than a DDM Tuning 55 watt HID setup I had on a recently sold BMW F800. The bulb apparently has its own ballast and...

    lithium battery on ebay

I just placed my order for that Apex Dennis is talking about. More than double the CCA's of my Odyssey and half the cost. Jack.

    Rear turn signals

The CBR mod appears to involve cutting the inner fender and some grinding of stock parts that's more than I want to do. I like the idea of an integrated Taillight/turn signal if there's one that is more 'plug and play'?
