    fork air eqaulizing tube

Thanks for the information, I thought it was kinda strange that no one had ever mentioned the balance tube in all of the fork lowering posts that I could find. I have plans for the '96 so I may just have to do the internal fork lowering with new springs. anybody have a cheap pair for sale?

    fork air eqaulizing tube

I have been wanting to lower the front end of my '92 Vmax by lowering the forks in the trees. I've read here how and why to do it but I quickly found out that there is a tube that connects across both fork tubes to equalize the air pressure. I also have a '96 (not currently driving) that doesn't...

Carb Cleaning for Free...sort of =)

Went to put the airbox back on and found that the flanges outside the box that conect to the carbs are hardened up so that I can't really get them onto the carbs completely. I'm sure that the cold tempuratures aren't helping. I took the box inside and noticed that the boot fit loosely into the...

Carb Cleaning for Free...sort of =)

Yes, I was running it without the box so that I could watch the slides. The tank and lines where flushed and filled with fresh fuel in October. I also added fuel preservative at fillups after that.

Carb Cleaning for Free...sort of =)

I finally got a chance to work on the bike yesterday as it was a whole 40deg. out. It fired right up on full choke. After about a minute I had to drop the choke down. It idled O.K. but would not take much if any throttle. It was popping back intermitently through the left front carb. After about...

Carb Cleaning for Free...sort of =)

Got the carbs back a couple of weeks ago (my thanks to Fargo) put the carbs on and haven't had a chance to reply until now ( too busy shoveling snow). First of all, the carbs look great all nice and shinny. I have no doubt that they are as close to new as I could get. I installed the carbs...

    r1 regulator mod

Does anyone know if the connectors to the r1 type regulator can be purchased? Are they a part of the main harness?

Carb Cleaning for Free...sort of =)

Well, thought I'd try out the service! These will be going out to Fargo today. From my '96. They're dirtier than they look in the pictures. It will be good to contribute to a good cause AND get my carbs cleaned! Looks like he may be kinda busy in the next couple of weeks.:biglaugh: Thanks, Fargo

    shock mount tap size?

Just in case anyone is interested, the tap size is a M10 x 1.25 The hole also needs to be counterbored about .854 deep at a .550 dia. to recess the shoulder bolt that threads into it.

    shock mount tap size?

Does anyone know what metric tap size is needed to get the shock mount from my Vmax to go into a 1999 Venture final drive. I tried to find a 86-93 Venture final drive to no avail, so I'll have to drill and tap the shock mount on this one. Thanks,

    clunk - stalling

I have a '92 & a '96 Vmax. Both of them at times will stall when they are shifted into 1st gear after being shut down and restarted. I thought at first it was just happening when I started it in gear with the clutch applied but after closer examination it will do it whether or not it is in a...

    vacuum throttle bodies

Just wondering? I've seen most discussion here on EFI about changing to GSXR fuel injection setup on the Vmax. What if any is the difference an/or pros and cons between say YZF R6 vacuum diaphragm throttle bodies? and the GSXR type? seems to me it might be good to stay with the same manufacture...

    stripped a/f screws

Help: I managed to strip out the a/f mixture screws on both carbs on the right side of my '96. :bang head: I was attempting to do the shotgun and even after using PB blaster ( overnight), heat and tapping on them to no avail. Since I did the shotgun I have gas pouring out of the front left...
