    Check your lids!!!

My cousin was bitten on his nuts by a brown recluse. The doctor told him he was gonna have to cut his nuts off. LMAO 'Course he was joking, but it put a hurtin' on him, kept him bedridden for a couple of weeks.

Is there a break-in period for plugs when checking your mixture screws

My bike is the same way. I tried setting the A/F at 2.5 turns out and it doesn't run quite as well. Also had a little more soot in the exhaust tips. Set them at 2.25 turns and it runs great. Even then exhaust tips are a little more grey colored on the inside. New plugs look the same as you...

New Vmax owner - Pulling flywheel ;/

So i took my Max to the shop to have the starter clutch bolts tightened. Two weeks later and the thing is making that 'jar of rocks' sound again. what the hell, man? Doesn't do it all the time and seems to do it less when the motor is hot. I'm baffled...

    New battery Vs Starter clutch...

My '06 was doing the same thing. Installed an Odyssey pc680 battery, no problems....for a few weeks. Now it's making that nasty grinding noise again when i try to start it. Guess it's time to pull the flywheel.

Are you a new member? Come here and say hi!

Hi there my V-Max friends! Happy to be a new member on the Max forum! I remember walking into a Yamaha dealership back in '85 or '86 and seeing the new V-Max...145hp was a mind-boggling number in those days! Finally bought a 2006 a couple of years ago. In spite of it's handling, I can't help...

Put a V-rod and it`s rider to shame today

I ride with a couple of guys with Harleys. I like their bikes and they like my Max, but they're always telling me I should trade it in for a Harley. I don't think so! I love my small-block Chevy on two wheels! :punk:

Put a V-rod and it`s rider to shame today

The Max can whip the Rod. No problem. I was nearly lugging mine at 3100rpm in 4th when we rolled and still had him by two bike lengths when I let off at 100+. Next time I won't be so generous. :biglaugh:

Put a V-rod and it`s rider to shame today

Thanks! I love this forum! Yea, it would have been better to roll in 3rd. Would have clobbered him for sure! I was in 4th at 40mph, 3100rpm...still outran the Rod! LOL

Put a V-rod and it`s rider to shame today

Stock 1250 Vrod vs stock '06 Vmax.. Didn't get a chance to drag them, but instead did a 40mph, 4th gear roll-on. The Max held him off about a half-bike's length up to around 95 or so and then started to walk away. Not bad considering a 40mph roll-on isn't exactly the Max's greatest strength.
