    Electrical burning smell, engine dies

Good job, but by your description you replaced only the blue wire from the ISC to the taillight. Do you have gauge, speedo and running lights? If not, see my last post. Cheers!

    Carb or Fuel Pump

Yup, do the shotgun, but also check the voltage across the battery terminals when your bike is at idle.....should be 12.3v. or better. The ignition unit requires a healthy voltage, or the bike will stumble. If the voltage is less, first suspect the battery itself. Have it load-tested...

    Electrical burning smell, engine dies

I would replace the blue wire from the Ignition Switch Connector (I.S.C.) to the splice point within the harness where the power is fed to the gauge, speedo and running lights, and then continue this new wire to the taillight connection. The brown wire should be replaced entirely - from the...

    Electrical burning smell, engine dies

+1 . I'm willing to bet that the connector is the problem. Take off the dummy tank and look for the white, three-wire connector (also a blue wire) I had mine fail years ago (the brown and red fused, the bike would not shut off!) I fixed the problem by eliminating the connector altogether...

    I so bummed...

+1 Gravel roads, tree roots, forgetting to put the sidestand down (yup, you read that right) - my bike usually goes over once per season. Fortunately, all low or no speed tips. But with case savers front and rear, plus an attached roll bar up front, damage has only amounted to a turn...

Any suggestions on a good gas treatment

The info on the can says "good for injectors" as well as carbs. Probably the best course of action is to avoid storing the bike with ethanol-added gasoline. What does the manual say about long-term storage? No doubt lots of advice on the net as well, such as googling "fuel-injected motors...

Any suggestions on a good gas treatment

I fill up with ethanol-free gas before laying the bike up, and add Seafoam for good measure. And I start the bike every second week or so, letting it warm up till the fan comes on. The bike is kept in an unheated section of my garage, the temp. never falls below the freezing point. No tender...

    High speed wobble

Thanks, Brian, but ya gots t'know..... I got my degree from Trump University:confused2:

    High speed wobble

The rotational speed of your front tire/wheel at the mph in question (60-70) is "exciting" the first resonant frequency of the bike's front end assembly (wheel, tire, forks, trees, handlebars - everything supported by the headstock bearings). Resonant frequency (often called "critical speed")...

    High speed wobble

When on a bumpy road, does the shaking start at about the same speed (65-70 mph)? But not on a flat road? If so, I think that I understand what your problem could be. Cheers!

    Headlight housing "adjustment"

If you don't mind altering the original bucket, you could use a piece of sheet metal (perhaps 24-30mm wide?), formed into a circle, and attached to the front of the bucket, with sheet metal screw or rivets. Alterations to the adjustment points/screws would also probably be needed. The extension...

    Know what your truly buying.

Amen to all of the above. Greed is the most destructive negative facet of human nature. When it comes to purchasing material goods, it's greed that compels us to buy the cheapest - not only because of the desire to save money (at least initially)- buying the least expensive allows us to buy...

Didn't you just re-oil your K&N filters, Ron? Isn't the oil red in color?? Cheers!
