I didnt use a press but I also have a ton of tools which helps.. I used this(Mac universal puller set) to unload the spring but it is probably a more expensive tool then paying the dealer to change them if you dont have one.

I thought about adding the Dale Walker power shifting kit. Just wasn't to cheap plus I don't clutch shift most the time anyhow. I wish I was one of the ones that didn't have the issue trust me on that.

I didn't have a back rest on my Vmax. I was actually surprised she liked the FZ1 ride better to be honest with you. It does not look like it would be better. I don't try to understand women's reasoning I just go with it..lol

If you blow 3rd gear it is on the rider ? Then why do they make a fix for the transmissions if it is a rider problem? I didn't blow 3rd it kept popping out but still required a undercut gear set to fix. I hated the clutch feel of the DD. I also drag race and ride like a hooligan with a Shinko...

Don't do it I snapped a shaft and had to repair 3rd gear after the DD mod plus unless you do a different clutch master you will hate it. I can not prove the third gear issue is related to it but I have my suspicions. I ordered the under cut gears and PCW heavy duty clutch spring and repaired it...
