    Finally

I'm sorry sir, but you are incorrect. The Spanish Flu went away over time as it became weaker and weaker (more virulent, but less deadly) and our immunological processes became more able to fight it. There was never a vaccine for it. But that is not really the point. And don't get me wrong, my...

    Finally

I will buy contagious, but not more deadly. Because that is the true science behind viruses. If it weren't, we'd still be fighting the Spanish Flu. This bug will burn itself out, but we may never get over the division and derision the politicizing of it has caused. Remember the Trump virus? One...

Top Speed numbers for Gen 2. What are you getting?

WOW! I love speed, but I think I would also be a huge sail. I had four rice rockets pass me one day up in Maryland on a wide sweeping turn and they had to be over 120. What fun! Me...awwww....my fast days are over, but GO GET 'EM!

    Gen 1 vs newer Porsche

Yes, but much more comfortable. You could cruise at speed all day. Definitely the 911 is quicker though, but not as smooth, even now that they are water-cooled. Much harder to work on, too. I've been thinking about buying an S4, but I am also thinking 1948-51 Chevy pickup. Going to the NSRA Nats...

    Gen 1 vs newer Porsche

YES! A '78. Bought it in England in '86, shipped it to the US as a grey market car. A typo. What a dummy I am sometimes....especially because I teach writing at a University (those who can't do, teach...you should worry about your tax dollars). :) The Vietnamese called it "Whispering Death."...

    Gen 1 vs newer Porsche

Negative sir. F-111, the fighter, not FB-111, the bomber. Two different aircraft, flown two different ways. I spent my time in Mother SAC, but it was in missiles, not airplanes. However, I salute you, brother, for still being in the mix!

    Gen 1 vs newer Porsche

Years ago, I had a '68 928. Great machine. I was in France and happened to get on a new autoroute...I was the only one there...it was completely empty and I had brand new tires. I backed off at around 160...fun, but dangerous...in France, they put you under the jail. I was flying F-111s at the...

    Garage Floor Finishes

I'm sure most of you know that as soon as that wee part disappears, it will always reappear as soon as you go buy another one. I think I have this problem solved. When it happens, I announce in a loud voice, "Well, I guess that is gone. I better go buy another one." Then I get in the truck...

    How MUCH?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good stuff, Fire-medic. I enjoyed it. I rode a Yamerhammer 250 MX for some time on trails, motocross, and cross country. Good bike. Old memories. I try not to drift off into stories...nobody wants to hear the reminiscing of an old fighter aviator...in fact, my war stories even bore me. Don't...

    How MUCH?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Triumph 200 Super Cub was my first...there was a love/hate relationship...and I have the permanently broken toe to prove how short the starter was and how badly it would kick back. That crappy old piece of junk...I hated that thing...wish I had it now.

    The End

What would have been best is rather than the pols saying, "These are not the droids you want, move along," the courts had actually had a chance to look at the evidence and see if there was any there, there. Instead it came down to standing and now 70 million (!) Americans (20% of our country!)...

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

I did. It was 36 degrees when I left home...chilly, but nice. A bad day on my bike is better than any day at work. It makes me smile, too.

    Bike Lift

Okay, stop it...I have dreams about cool bikes like that and you are making me salivate like Pavlov's pup. But I guess if I had the money, I probably wouldn't want it. ;-)

    Age of Vmax owners

Thank you. I haven't named her yet...it just hasn't come to me. I was surprised you didn't finish: "Nothing, darling. What's a matta fo you?"

Bigger thrill than a Gen. 1 on VBoost

Wait, you ride a motorcycle in the middle of all these idiots looking at their cellphones, doing their makeup, shaving, reading the newspaper, etc., and you call this unsafe? Just kidding man. Face it, if we are riding with the horrible drivers out there, we are all Danger Dans. The guy in the...

    Age of Vmax owners

Turned 66, 45 days ago. First bike was a Triumph 200 when I was 14. Had a lot of bikes. Raced moto and cross country for a bit in my teens. Bought a Suz 750 while in AF Pilot Training. Everytime I looked at the speedo it said 85. Sold it before I moved to England in '85 and before I killed...

    07' Vmax Front Caliper Rebuild

For all youze guys, I saw a guy do this on Youtube and designed and had a guy weld it up for me (a skill I never acquired, oddly). I tie the bike down with a ratchet strap across the engine. Just redid the forks, calipers, and brakes. Works like a champ. Of course, you have to have the car lift...

My Max quit on the freeway

Odd. I would wonder how it got there. Check the bearings to make sure they are tight. Unless it is causing a short, however, I can't see it. But....it is an odd problem you have (like you needed to hear that).
