Dunno about any brackets. I bought some of this insulation foam tube and jammed some onto the coils. The foam wall thickness is about 3/4" I guess, so the coils are kinda squashed into the valley now.

Sounds like you are on the money there. Which cylinder is the problem? Maybe shotgun clean the carbs and check the fuel enrichener diaphragms if it persists.

That would fit my bike perfectly.

The more in depth description is sounding like your carbs might just need a balance!
