Just for the fun of it I looked in some old files and found the bill of sale for the brand new non-current '85 I bought in February of 1987. I paid $4300 out the door for serial number 1662. I wish I still owned it, who knows where it is now.

I have been amused by the fact that my '79 XS1100 has self canceling signals, and my Gen 1 Vmax has self canceling signals, but my '08 FJR1300 does not. I love them, and wish my FJR had them.

It's not too bad really. You can make a big enough box. Wrap the pipes completely in bubble wrap. Block the pipes in the box with styrofoam so they don't move around in the box. Shipping weight ends up being 46 or 47 lbs or so.

I think the PO either drilled out the center of the baffle, or simply knocked the center out with a punch. After I removed them you could hear material still rattling around inside the can. By the way when I sold them on eBay, I explained all of that so the buyer had no surprises.

Needless to say I'm a fan of all the old Yamaha air cooled inline fours. My '79 XS 1100 Special may be old, but it'll embarrass plenty of Harleys and metric cruisers. That 750 is a great first bike, you could tour the country on that bike with no problem.

Congrats on getting it settled so quickly! Dealing with insurance companies is never fun.
