    Remove Battery over Winter?

I went out and rode my bike a few blocks the other day after not running it for a couple months. The battery did not seem to be low in the least after all the sitting in the cool weather. It made me wonder if I need to remove it or disconnect it all this winter. Do you guys that live in cold...

    Follow-up to earlier "Clunk-Shift" post

A while back I posted a question about how to consistently get a smooth shift from 1st to 2nd gear on my 2007 'Max. Much was discussed - thanks to all. I wanted to point out an observation I've made. I have read in this forum that, when buying a used 'Max, one thing to check is the proper...

Do you let people ride your 'Max?

My fiance' invited a her friends over the other day (a couple). I have a Beta 525RR woods bike, a Honda Express scooter, a couple riding lawn mowers, and the 'Max. So here's a theory on "warming up" an engine: I think we can all agree that the vast majority of any engine's wear occurs at startup. Why? Because, at startup, engines operate momentarily with low or no oil pressure. In reality, once engines are running, the metal surfaces do not contact one...

Who knows how to avoid the CLUNK shift?

Help me out here. Try as I might, I can only figure out 2 ways to get a smooth, non-"CRRRunk" shift from 1st to 2nd. The ways I can get a nice shift are shifting almost immediately or shifting 6,000 RPM or above. Am I alone?

How do I remove chrome plugs?

I would like to drop the bike down the fork tubes a little. Anyone know the best way to remove the chrome plugs from the clamps without marring them? Thanks in advance !

Took me 20 years, but I finally got a 'Max!

Ever since reading about the V-max in it's inception I have been in awe. What a cool thing....a bike frame with one purpose: a munting point for a fire-breathing engine. I finally caved. At 2PM yesterday I decided the time had come. I called five dealers. I got the best price, and I drove a...
