    Hi

Hello from IL. : not sure how to start a question, but here it goes. My 2000 Max seems to carburate well at any RPM, however accelerating beyond a certain point ( meaning (say) an 1/8 throttle change )causes it to stumble (sound raspy) for a couple of seconds and return to normal sound at...

Did anybody burn igniter, using wrong COP?

Responding to Seans comment about side stand switches. The one on my 2000 max failed and unplugging the unit was not enough to get the bike to start. I cut the plug end off of the switch and soldered the wires together to create a jumper, then plugged that back in and the bike started. Just...

    Carb tune.

Hello; My carb question isn't directly related to the Max; I have another Bike ( 1965 Honda CL72 ) that I put a 250 Twin Star motor in because the original was fragged. It runs well, however when rolling off of the throttle, the engine tends to hold a high idle rpm ( about 3000 ) for...

    Is it just me

Back in the 80's, the ship I was on was transiting back to the States. I was on watch one evening about 0100 hr, when a banana shaped "blip" appeared on the scope. The edge of the display was 60 miles from the ship. The blip spread across 20 deg of arc. My thinking was the radar is broken...

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

I believe this is indirectly related to this ignition question; What does the ignition box do? I am asking how the box determines timing. Does the pickup coil sense the "1st" trigger edge, then uses that edge to fire the coil then somehow advances timing based on RPM and (vacuum) until the "max...

TV repair instructions for electrical guys.

That crt has a high positive voltage , there is usually a bleeder resistor to bleed it off however it is a large capacitor in practice, or so I remember

    Jet Size flow rates

Years ago I found a lot of KZ's , GS's etc that had main jets and pilot jets drilled over size. So I used a syringe to measure the flow rate by passing the fuel (by gravity) through the jet ( for example 10 CC) then count the seconds.. till the tube was empty. I could sort my collection of...

    Gen 1 blowback thru carb

One more question, if I may; Is there a "best way" to remove the jet block? I removed the 2 screws holding it on. However it is resistant to coming off, as if I missed a hidden screw. I don't want to distort or damage anything.. Thanks a lot again. Ryce

    Gen 1 blowback thru carb

I appreciate that info. I made some assumptions (yea I know about them) I bought the bike a few months ago and the tank was out to extend the fuel capacity. So I assume that it is clean. I had the carbs out to adjust the V-Boost. The servo motor was toast. I tested that motor and it used 800...

    Gen 1 blowback thru carb

Hello; I am a new (to me) 2000 Max owner. My bike suddenly started running on the 2 left side cylinders. Pulling the air box off , I started doing the shotgun approach to a clogged jet. I then started the bike and now it pops from the exhaust and blows fuel out of one of the carbs. Mostly...

    turn signal

Placing my question in this thread is better placed. The GPS speedometer didn't have an output for the flasher relay. So I was thinking that the Arduino Nano could produce a pulse stream that mimicked the reed switch open/closing function. Just keep it (the Nano) on/off continuously. As that...

    Vboost Question

I have a GPS speedometer from Speedhut. I bought the bike from Sean Morley and did not know enough to ask him about the signals. So I am just thinking through the best way to get the cancel function to work. thanx

    Vboost Question

My turn signals don't cancel because there is no speedometer output to the turn signal relay. I was thinking of using a Nano to provide a similar input signal. Do you know what is being "sent" to the signal relay? Perhaps a +12V pulse every 1/10 mile. Or some other output. I would be happy...

    Vboost Question

I would like to ask some questions about your learning curve with the Arduino if you don't mind. Thanks Ryce
