Fuel Leak Part II - Completely stumped.

When I got my Vmax back I just replaced the tank instead of spending hours cleaning, sealing, etc, then have the potential of it not sealing properly. So if you have the means just buy a new one and be done with it. I paid a little over $400 for a brand new one.

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

I split my calipers to rebuild them and had no issues at all. I don’t know how you can completely rebuild/clean them without splitting them.

    First “real” ride

My first street bike was also an H2 750. I bought it in 1983 from a guy who had just rebuilt it. It did not like to turn!! lol. Incidentally, the guy I bought it from was on Night Line with Ted Kopple several years later. He was a fighter pilot in the first Gulf War and shot down 2 Iraqi planes...

Drag racing questions for Gen 1 vmax

You probably know this info already but when I raced my 86 completely stock I took off the mirrors, lowered rear pressure to 18 psi and launched @ 4,500rpm. No straps or lowering. When final staged get your rpm’s up and let the clutch out to just before it engages then let it out quickly but...

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

Can you ask him to send you some pics once he gets them installed? I can’t decide if I like that color yet. What does a quart of that cost?

    Picked up magna v4

Your right Fire-medic the other one was a Gizxer 1000. The Vmax and the Gixxer ran identical 1/4 mile times and exact same top speed but they crowned the Gixxer King of Quick since it had a slightly higher trap speed. I’m still pissed about that…they did put a full exhaust, slick and wheelie...

Sorry for the vagueness but I do remember seeing pictures of it on a dirt flat track.

Any Videos of Side control drifting and Child Step Stunt riding on a Vmax

I saw a story in Motorcyclist or cycle world years ago where someone made a Gen 1 into a flat tracker and someone famous tested it (Eddie Lawson maybe).

New Inhabitant to the Flanigan Garage

    Choosing my first

I bought a Fazer (WeeMax) for my wife many years ago. I loved riding it! Very light and responsive. She sold it for patio furniture…humph…

    Tried a stoppie

Just putting SS break lines on my 86 made a huge difference. Will lock up the front no problem. I want to see someone do a stoppie on a Gen 1.

    New Bikes at My Disposal

There has been a significant change in my household in the last couple of months. Both my sons (24 and 22 years old) took a job with my son-in-law and moved out of state for what looks like a couple years. So that was a huge and sad change. We did a lot together including riding. The one silver...
