Just the other day for my 2000 Vmax ..

    correct Carb hose diagram

That's a K&L kit, not K&N...just a small typo, but I figured it out when I zoomed in on the picture of the package...no biggie! Those look like better quality jet block gaskets that are not the rubber ones... because I've already changed a couple sets messing with my carbs...when the California...

    jet sizes

I'm at sea level in SoCal with a Dale Walker Holeshot 2 into 1 full exhaust, and I like the 150 main jets and I even installed the 147.5s to see how it runs...so far it feels a little weaker than the 150s but I'm getting 40mpg on the highway, so its ok for me. I am going to install the Factory...

2001 vmax new throttle cables too big for holder connector?

I must have taken mine apart a dozen times before I realized there are actual arrows on the connector box that show the direction and cable orientation on the top clear lid part of the cable connector box...maybe this will help...

    High rpm deceleration popping

I've pulled my carbs off at least ten times the last year, and every time I put them back together and sync them, it runs different! I only changed the jets a couple times, but it seems like they are sensitive to the proper type of gaskets used, idle mixture screw settings, how clean you get...

    Best stock carb kit

My K&L parts said 'Made in Taiwan' on them.... not sure about the Japan manufacturing....the biggest issue I've found so far is the jet block gaskets from the aftermarket kits, including K&L are rubber and they expand and swell up after sitting in the ethanol gasoline after a couple days. They...

    OEM Carbs? Post your setup

Can't believe it would make that much difference...I've changed mine back and forth a few times and no noticeable difference in how my bike runs or idles...its a bit weird really...that your bike would be so drastically affected by the vacuum mod hack...personally I just like my bike super...

Is the "Furber" fix really worth it??

Yeah I got some head shake... I don't dare go more than 75 mph which is still pretty slow on the SoCal freeways but that's the threshold for my head shake so I stay below it.... I bought my Vmax non running condition after it had been sitting out for about 5 years. I adjusted the bearing...

    Main Jet Size 147.5

I have Dale Walker Holeshot 4 into 2 full exhaust and I run 147.5s but I probably need to get the Factory Pro or Dynojet Stage 7 needles...it runs a bit lean right now...great on gas mileage, approx 40mpg hwy and 35 mpg combined city/hwy, but the power is a little off...seems a bit slower than...

Tach and 2 cylinders dead when hot

UPDATE: I didn't have a chance to dig into the issue and check some things like I had planned last weekend, due to the nasty hot weekend temps and oppressive humidity...but I have been riding my Vmax to work daily all this week, 18 miles each way city/hwy. Only a couple times it gave me an...

Tach and 2 cylinders dead when hot

I didn't get a chance to look at my issue this weekend, it was too hot, extreme heat advisory so I tried to stay inside and stay cool...but I rode my Vmax to work today like usual, and it was fine, until I came home it suddenly died on two cylinders and backfired loudly...I pulled over to the...

Tach and 2 cylinders dead when hot

Rode it 18 miles to work this morning, in stop and go traffic, the temp gauge went up til the fan came on many times, no issues today...this is an intermittent and random issue...not even sure its heat related at this point...I'll spend some time this weekend checking wires and connections and...

Tach and 2 cylinders dead when hot

In reply to your earlier posts Jack Hammer, Yes, I have synched the carbs good, whenever I remove them and replace them the last couple months. This is an intermittent and random issue I am having, and I am sure it is an electrical issue, not a carb issue. I have also clipped and cleaned the...

Tach and 2 cylinders dead when hot

No, it won't respond it wants to die, missing on a couple cylinders with tach suddenly dead. Cannot raise RPMS when it happens.

Tach and 2 cylinders dead when hot

RPMs won't increase when this issue occurs, it wants to die and has no power...so I am forced to pull over and turn off the engine. Then when I turn the key back on, it goes away, starts and runs fine.

Tach and 2 cylinders dead when hot

Thanks for the input Jack Hammer....I'll get out the multi-meter this weekend...so far the fan comes on with no issues, and the battery is new, and I cleaned the ground wires to the frame last week...its just a random thing, the tach suddenly dies and its only running on two cylinders...it has...

Tach and 2 cylinders dead when hot

I see a lot of people have the Ignitech unit...I'm leaning towards something more affordable. I found the DB Electrical unit on Amazin for $150....anyone used one of these CDI units?

Tach and 2 cylinders dead when hot

Ok, got the signature thing fixed... I have a 2000 Vmax. So it sounds like the ignition is giving up the ghost?? That is not good... do you mean the TCI box up by the front coils is possibly the issue? This is the culprit that has the solder and bad connection issues? The...
