Motorycle For Sale 2001 V-Max For Sale

Excellent, clean bike. 19,500 miles. Runs and looks great. I re-finished all aluminum surfaces so there is no clear coat crazing or blistering. It has the carbon fiber package including an aftermarket front spoiler (Exactrep). Other features are: Exactrep Billet Shifter Exactrep "Velocity...

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

Aw! Commiseration. Just dropped one of mine last week. Not my Max, but dang what a sinking feeling that is. You know when you pick it up that it's gonna be ugly and costly.

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

Thanks much. On a different note, I'm wondering if my shift lever is "normal". I included a photo below. To me the peg looks crooked, but I'm pretty sure it's cast aluminum and the arm is straight, so I don't think anything is bent. Any ideas (other than to tone down my OCD!)?

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

I finished stripping and polishing my scoops. I started with Aircraft Cleaner which did a fantastic job of lifting the clear. I was a bit surprised to see that some of the corrosion was beneath the clear and on the aluminum itself. Hit the bare aluminum with 400 thru 1000 grit, then three...

    Probert rode a Vmax

I know a lot of enforcers have it pretty rough, either by nature or by getting cast in their roles from youth leagues on. Some aren't even violent/self-destructive as kids, just big, then their coaches want them to drop the mittens. Maybe less so these days, but still can mess a guy up.

    Probert rode a Vmax

Did not know that he rode (let alone a V-Max) or that there was a film. Very cool to know on all counts. Thanks for the info👍👍

    V-Max Scoops on 2023 Ducati

In addition to the scoops, the new Diavel is also V4 1200 (1158). Cool to see how far reaching the max influence still is.

That's interesting about acceleration. I figured the wheel and radial recommendations were primarily for agility.

DG -Beautiful work. Also, it's great to see others without a full shop getting it done (not that we don't all want one!). I'm marking this thread for all the good stuff covered. FM- Great flashback to Kenny Roberts!

I didn't know Pirelli's would be in the mix. Good to know. I still need to get to know mine better, but I also find that it handles OK. I also have steel brake cables in mind. I've seen others mention different calipers, but that would also require progressive fork springs, right? I love it ...

Thanks. The tires were new when I bought it. I've put about 500 miles on. Straight roads and highways around town. Haven't hit any twisties yet, but I know that's not it's forte'. Is that what you mean about the tires? They're IRC.

    My Bike

I got it in December, but wanted to scent mark it before 'unveiling' it here. It's an '01, carbon fiber deco, Hole Shot exhausts, K&N for air and oil, new rear rotor and re-finished wheel, new or polished bolts everywhere I encounter them. New valve cover gaskets. Swapped out the tall back rest...

    1st Gen V-Max 1995 V-Max

That is inspiring, and a bit intimidating. It's a great reminder for patience and vision in the project. I'm currently refinishing a rear grab rail which has taken hours already. I need to decide what level of restoration/customization I want to achieve. I just finished polishing and painting my...

Happy New Year Max fanatics- I'm new here. Recently got my first V-Max after first drooling over one in the 80's. It's probably best that I didn't get one when I was that young. I've had my chopper, Gold Wing and many bikes in between, but at 57 decided I had to stop screwing around and get a...
