    Destroyed A/F Screws

Sent mine to Sean Morley. He had machine shop drill out hole. He put in a sleeve which became receiver for a/f screw. It worked. That cylinder started running on idle! You know how to take the carbs off!

    Tool Kit

I made a tool kit specially for the Vmax, sized to fit under the passenger seat. Has more tools than the OEM kit. Really suggest having it, I have it for sale. Picture here: http://www.vmaxforum.net/showthread.php?t=29113 On a more cautious note, everyone should consider having a backpack...

Selling Bike From CL to Out of State Buyer

Selling a bike off Craigslist. Out of state buyer has to go to his bank to get a loan and the cash. He asked me for VIN# to give to bank for loan. Asking those with experience or may know: Any harm to me to give VIN# to him?

    Battery Observation

I wanted an Interstate battery. But they told me they did not have the sealed AGM style for the bike. So I got their conventional.

    Battery Observation

Battery stopped performing at acceptable level, even stopped being charged with trickle charger. Took it out and what I found was a conventional battery that every cell had very little acid in. One cell had 1/2 inch, some had 1 1/2 inch, one had 2 inches, from the bottom up. Asking for...

    Torque Settings

Great info. Question: there are 2 bolts that held the calipers to the piece the axle goes through and one bolt and nut that held that piece on the top to the long stay. So the 2 bolts are 32 ftpd and the stay bolt and nut is 16 ftpd? Think I got it.

    Torque Settings

Going to take the rear tire off, change a tire. Gives me a chance to use my new torque wrench. Would really appreciate a listing of torque settings I should use to put the tire back on. If memory serves, need it on axle and caliper bolts. Thanks.

This makes me laugh! I call learning about these things the T&E method. TRIAL AND ERROR. Who wants to read a book, we just want to mount a monster......

    Kick stand engine kill switch

Did you trailer it or figure it out first? Same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago. Went to Lowe's. Came out, started it in 1st, clutch in, kick stand down. Let out on clutch, it died. Did it 2 more times! Then I said to myself what is going on? Looked around, saw the kick stand was...

    Considering a second bike

I am not considering BMW right now. Sure they are great bikes, but heard they might require more service, adjustments, than I want to be involved with. And being in Norman, OK and the closest BMW dealer either Tulsa or Dallas, well, that is too far for me. Honda, Kawasaki, and Yamaha dealers...
