    Tomok Mirrors anyone?

they do hold great, they come with a tool to tighten them but I never needed to re tighten them, they have good adjustably & vibration is minimum. I think its not authentic koso but works & looks very nice that said mirrors are not by any means a substitute for turning your head & looking, they...

    Tomok Mirrors anyone?

You got that right about the drag bars, I would say get rid of the bars & use a (superbike bar) it has the same pull back as a drag bar but also has a little inch rise which gives a very comfortable wrists position & overall better riding position & control.

    Tomok Mirrors anyone?

they look nice but too small to be functional I think. I have these. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-KOSO-GT-Diamond-Motorcycle-Rear-Side-Blue-Mirrors-C-/270721855529?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item3f0847b029

Rear Tyre size.....again and rear shocks

I respectfully disagree with your statement "A wider rear tire does not adversely affect handling" it does have a negative effect on handling, next time you see a fat tire on a vmax look and see how much of that width the bike actually uses, it will never use the entire width & will always be...

    Fork issue

How much are they for 43mm forks? for some reason the stock 2003 is more expensive than the 2007 $232 is the lowest price I found

Rear Tyre size.....again and rear shocks

I have a 160/70X17 on a 17 inch rear wheel, its not a car tire and in fact its the closest possible to the stock 150/90X15 in diameter. they don't make them for a 15 inch wheel.

    The orange O-ring ?

Cheap fix is not the issue especially when your good engine seizes from this stupid thing, I've seen a bracket fix but it doesn't look durable, the most important thing in a fix is to allow for vibration without coming apart, something that blocks the O-ring from bulging downward & at the same...

    The orange O-ring ?

What about using a small section of a rubber hose, the hose gets supported by the 90* pipe from underneath and extends beyond the lips that hold the stock o-ring as far as possible, it should fit very snug, something like this photo.

low oil pressure fix, need some part numbers please

You are very wrong!, my bike has 77.000 miles & the engine seized due to the orange O-ring popping out & causing oil starvation! at 24000 miles I got paranoid and had the dealer remove the pan and check the O-ring , everything was in great shape. what a stupid design Yamaha has for oil...

    2004 vmax battery

by bigger you mean size or more amps? if more amp rating, it takes longer to charge so if you regularly go short trips the stock 16 amp is better but if you go long trips then the 18 or 20 amp battery will have more reserve.

    New crankshaft balancing?

My question is if I order a new crankshaft will it need balancing? do they need pistons, rings , rods & flywheel to dynamically balance it? Thanks Sean

    RICOR instructions needed

Do it yourself, we tend to put too much compression damping, ricore without the piston ring will work even better than racetech, just don't use thicker oil only 5 wt, progressive spring is already stiff, this combination will work great, I was going to try it but my engine seized so I have much...

    HID setup

the most powerful LED is just 3 watt, wait until they come up with a 10 or 20 watt LED so a housing that has 8 LEDs would use 80 watts and live indefinitely, for now HID is king & LEDs are just used for day light running lights/ fog lights.

    HID setup

Its not made for driving light & light output is pitiful may be 150 lumen's but Fair - for day light running light & that's what I am using it for since I have two 35watt HIDs for night time I find this sufficient for day time to save the strain on my charging system, don't buy it, if you want...

    RICOR instructions needed

I would remove the piston ring off ricore & use 5 wt oil, the plastic piston ring causes a lot of stiction & that's why the ricore feels stiff & doesn't respond well to small road irregularities, this will make it read road irregularities much better. also progressive springs don't have enough...

    HID setup

This is exactly why I said "its pure luck on the part of DDM" to have a slightly shorter bulb. but every few years they come up with a new design so maybe the next one will be shorter. but I really don't see cutting the housing a big problem, the bulb base is still water proof unless you...
