I would also replace the rubbers of the carb's now you have the carb's removed anyway.
just to be shore all is oke.
Be carefull with removing the inlets to the cylinders. The two of the back cylinders (alenkey bolts)
The bold at the outside are having motor-oil under need and have to be closed...

Are you sure it's NON V-boost model?
A NON V-boost model has a tacho meter going up to 8500 rpm and than the red starts.
A V-boost model is going up to 9500 rpm
There are other specific thing where you can see it's a NON V-boost model. (100HP)

I walked around with the idea of installing some highway steps...:ummm:
So I produced some myself including the brackeds to fix them on.
So found a solid stainless steel bar at work and asked a colleague to turn it into a nice step. Add some "O" rings and :punk:

I stept away from the idea of using resistors for the Led lights.
Saterday I bought a 3 pin relais specialy for led lights.
I checked the electric diagram for my model and year 1996 European model.
I left the original relais in place and I took the brown/white wire out of the connector...

I bought some nice led blinkers.
And with that two resitors for reducing the blinker speed.
But after connecting this, the speed is still to fast like there are no resistors installed.
The resistors are paralel installed on the led lights. Between the + and the - and one...
Check the diaphrams in the carburators.
I had the same problem a month ago. First all four where loose. Running bad and V-boost coming in at 7,5/8 RPM
After opening the metal bush was out of the diaphrams.
Put them back together (not knowing they had to be glued)
So after few days had the same...
Today I bought 4 new sparkplugs and also kabel. I orded caps and they will arive later.
Changing the plugs is piece of cake aswell the two cables of the back cylinders. But the two front cylinders is a different story!! First you need to breack your hand in a few places before you can reach. But...

Why not a V-max and tune it down to resenable power as a step up to maybe later a full power V-max.
To begin you can start with removing the V-boost controler and maybe some different needle sets and settings.
