2003 Vmax I had the coils raised yesterday to access the battery, and noticed what looks like a crack in the plastic covering of each coil. Bike is running fine. Anything to worry about??

In reinstalling my front header pipes, I've realized that the flanges are not symmetrical . Looking from the top down, which way is correct, A or B? They seem to fit both ways. Can't find the answer in the manual.

Looking for a really good tutorial on how to sync the carbs. Has anyone made a video on the subject for the Vmax?

I am wondering where I would get original paint for my 03 Vmax. It is a Matte black metallic paint (what I would call a semiflat). The paint is probably matte finish right out of the can. I would love to get a pint or a quart of it.

The question is, what do you think of them. A three hour ride on the factory Vmax seat is brutal, at least for me. Friend of mine has an 85 V-Max and he installed a switch to manually turn the radiator fan on. He says it tends to overheat, mostly in traffic. The manual fan switch solves the problem. My 2003 has no issues with overheating. Is their a difference in the years of the bikes?

I have an 03 with cobra exhaust. I love the look and sound, but I am thinking about going back to original, or supertrapps. Anyone have either that they would consider letting go of? The cobras are slipons so all that is required is the exhaust itself.
