Hey All,

I went to Gateway MSP yesterday for their weekly TNT session. Been there before a couple times on my old school Gsxr but took the Vmax last night. I definitely felt like the odd man out as I was surrounded by Busa's and Zx14's.

Anyways, my Max is a '89 with 44K+ miles, Kerker 4-2-1 (stock carbs, airbox, and filter), running a Venture diff and Shinko ToutMasters (street pressure in both). Only other add on is a Autometer shift light with a 9200rpm pill.

My 60's times suck (pretty much do on anything I've ever raced).

I do have a front tie down strap somewhere I may use next time. Other than working on my launch, any other tips?

Thanks.

4200 rpm launch. Clutch full out, throttle pinned. Soft shift 2nd gear ( full clutch and let off throttle ), then pin the throttle and blip it during shifts for 3rd and 4 th. Shit around 10,200 on factory tach, or around 9800 on an accurate tach. You should go through the traps in 4th fear especially with the venture diff.

Should be able t9 run 11.40s with the mph.

Seat time is all you need. Your doing great.

Nice times!...............Running like a stock Max should, the stock Max diff may help a bit on your 60' times but probally not worth the effort to swap it out, mine's stock and I run through the traps in 4th....................Tom.
