    Clutch engagement point changed

When I drove in this am the clutch was engaging when the lever was barely pulled in. As I got close to work it started engaging closer to full clutch lever pull. Hoping I make it home. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

brake and clutch master replacement question

I'm looking for some options for both. I prefer the OEM looking ones and not the sport bike looking ones that have the big circle reservoir sticking up. I'm also wanting some replacement levers, the thick ones and wanted to know what kind as far as figment because there are so many universal...

    Clutch slave cylinder replacement

This is a job many people dread. When the slave cylinder leaks, there's no way to get around it. You have to fix it. I suggest replacement with a new one. Yes rebuild kits are available, but if it doesn't work (the rebuild) for you, do you want to repeat the job? I didn't think so. For this...

Hole in Clutch Cover From Rear Brake Lever - Repair Options?

I recently bought V-Max #4 (in my lifetime). Last weekend I discovered some black sealant on the clutch cover just behind the rear brake lever. Apparently the bike had been down before on the right side punching a hole into the clutch cover with the brake lever. The cover itself is discontinued...

    CLutch master and slave cylinder

Looking for a good setup for my '90. My original is getting weak. Looking for a good used set that hasn't been sitting around drying out or sucking up moisture. Not opposed to new if someone has parts that didn't get used or whatever. Thanks

Aluminum Clutch & Brake Levers - Beware!

I couple months ago I purchased a pair of “CNC Brake Clutch Levers For Yamaha V-Max VMAX” on ebay for my 85 Max. The brake lever was no problem, you do need to use the stock reducer bushing to install. The aluminum clutch lever comes with a .392 or 9.95mm diameter aluminum insert which has a...

Pulling in the clutch, on an incline, 1 second to disengage

I had to ask this question here. When I park my bike on an incline, I always leave it in gear. I noticed that, while in gear, when I pull in the clutch it takes a solid second for the clutch to disengage, then for the bike to begin to roll back. Is this normal?

    gen 1 clutch master cylinder

We are taking one last stab at finding a solution to the problems in upgrading the Clutch Master to Brembo on my 1997 Vmax. (OEM Ducati Brembo 848 1098 1198) Brake side is working like a charm, clutch not. New Barnett clutch is installed, Galfer lines, and the last attempt at trouble shooting is...

    Poorly fitted clutch lever

I have only had my Max for about 4 months. I had noticed that sometimes the gear changes were a little 'clunky' especially at slower speed. I found that they were a little smoother when accelerating a little harder. Last week, whilst moving the bike on my drive, I slipped and dropped the bike...
