whats the average fork seal lifespan for a vmax or a normal bike. not something thats being stunted. Only bike i've ever done fork seals on had 30k miles and was almost 20 yrs old, is that typical?

Ok I know this has been asked before, but it is still unclear to me: How do I remove the air nozzle assembly on top of the forks? Is it secured to the forks at all? Is it supposed to just slide up off the forks (with some persuasion). If they don't want to move, how can I best persuade them?
