Ok, stupid question time.... If I wanted to lower my front end simply by raising the forks in the tree, is that all there is too it? How far is too far?

when you slide the tubes up on the stock front end on an 86 to lower the front doesn't that change the location of the air inlet for putting air in the tubes?

ive seem a few through the years before i got a max...forks slid up and inch and lower rear shocks...I was never one to lower a bike im getting strange in my old age.......sliding the fork tubes up and inch..any draw backs doing that..its the cheepest way i know but will it be ok...

my max is a 86 and has air forks on it. the air valve is just under the top tree and clamps around the tube, and has a hose running to the other fork tube. i guess there is a hole w/ a seal in the fork tube under these clamps. is this correct? if this is the case it seems impossible to lower...

For those not willing to spend mucho bucks on shorter shocks, can look at an alternative method for mere change. Top and bottom are both 1" further apart, giving me a 2" lower rear. Not all that hard to do.

After my ride on sunday I realized how slugish the Vmax's steering is for tight and close corners. Takes a bit of effort and more time than it should to swap from a right hand to a left hand corner, like s-curves. I remember someone with his own site (dustmax I think) who had lowerd the trees...
