Progressive Springs installed / Forks Rebuilt

I had a Hungarian mechanic rebuild my forks. I gave him Progressive springs and new OEM seals to install. He did all the work for the equivalent of $35. I had to argue with him to take that since he actually asked for less. I just got the forks installed back into the bike, and WOW they are...

    11.5" Progressive's

I just put some new 11.5" progressive's on my bike. I didn't really get to ride it more than a couple of miles. I was wondering if one of the experts on handling dynamics could explain how lowering the back will affect how my bike handles. The PO had shortened progressive springs installed up...

Progressive rear shocks purchase & install

Purchased a set of the 412 series Progressive HD shocks to lower the rear end an inch and level out the bike since the front end had the Furber Fix done on the front years ago. They look decent. Gonna test run it tomorrow.

How to tell if I have progressive springs

Besides opening up the forks, is there a way to tell if the front springs are aftermarket? Like are the 1" lowering springs the most popular and is there a ground clearance measurement I can check? I've only had my vmax for 1000miles and the front end seems fairly stiff. I'm 240lbs and have...

    Progressive Springs

So the time has come for me to do the fork seals on my 03. I can find progressive springs on Amazon and Ebay but do not know which weight to get them in. My bike is almost bone stock, I weigh in at 280 pounds but often have my wife on the back. Any ideas?

How to replace Progressive Shock Bushings?

I have the replacement shock bushings from Progressive. I have tried to press them into the shocks to no avail. What is the trick that I am missing? I am using a socket as a bushing driver, but as I press the bushing it expands rather than sliding into the shock mount. Do I have to shave...

    Progressive spring installation

How difficult is it to install the progressive springs that so many of you have changed to? Are there any "special" tools needed or do you simply remove the cover and replace the spring?

How do you change your rear shocks?

Hi, I've just gotten myself a pair of 444's. Is the centerstand enough to jack up the rear to replace the shocks? I'm thinking that the rear part might collapse if I remove both OEM shocks. Anyone with experience?' Thanks!

    Progressive monotube cartridge kit

I was about to buy the usual racetech products when a mate sent me a link to the progressive website for monotube cartridge kits for his Harley. Does anyone know if any Harley forks are the same length/diameter as the post 93 Vmax forks? Could be another option for us if there is...

progressive spring install then fork seal leaking

Hi I have a fork seal leak after I installed progressive springs and was wondering if I did something wrong or if just a coincidence? I pulled forks out completely so I could measure the fork oil but did not change the synthetic power steering fluid I was using for fork oil. I measured down from...

    Race Tech of Progressive

Ok folks, I'm stuck with a decision... or lack thereof. I don't know what route to go with the front suspension. I love hitting the twisties but there's not a whole lot of twisties around here in NW Ohio. I tend to have an aggressive riding style as I ride with sportbikes most of the time and...
