Steering Head Bearings and Races Replaced: How-To With Pictures!

    1. Cover that intake. It's easy to drop hardware into the carbs with the cover off. 2. Hoist that beast up by the frame. 3. Remove the upper retaining nut 4. Chock the front wheel so it doesn't get away from you when you remove the adjusting nuts. Now is a good time to remove the front...

Replaced my clutch and cleaned the carbs ride... A Vmax ride.

With the double d clutch and carbs cleaned I took it for a quick ride yesterday. With that super hard Exceddra tire on it, it spins easily from a 5 mph roll. I was able to pull the front end up high in 1st gear, but not in 2nd gear. I never clutch up my bikes, just pure power. But end result...

    Engine Replaced???

I bought my '98 used from local dealer last fall. The salesman didn't know anything about the bike. It looked great, needed a little TLC, but nothing I couldn't handle. Few mods already done. I took it for a test ride, runs excellent and pulls like a freight train. I only put approx 150 miles...

    89 vmax replaced with 07.

1998 vmax replaced with 07. Another VMax , my 1998 Silver and Black, met with a little old lady making an illegal left hand turn and looking the other way, and panicking and stepping on the gas instead of the brake, the result was me leaping off to save my foot and ended up with my bike landing...

    Replaced Stock Horn

About a month ago, I can close to being smashed by an Tractor Trailer that was making an illegal turn. I laid on my horn, swerved, and avoided certain injury. Obliviously a horn will not prevent accidents, but I felt I needed a much louder horn than stock. I replaced my stock horn with the "...

Front tire wobble, already replaced bearings. . .

My front tire wobbled when I bought the bike. So, I read on here and replaced my steering stem bearings, which looked pretty worn. This fixed most of the problem, but there was still a problem when letting off the throttle in fifth gear around 50 down to 45 mph. So, I changed out the wheel...

    just replaced the steering bearings...

The worse part was getting the races in and out. Inserting the bottom race was the big pain because of the way it sits. We improvised a tool for that one, a three d-cell mag light that was already broken. Worked perfectly. :)

Replaced fork seals, leaking at air valve?

So I replaced my fork seals (93) according to my Haynes manual, and it seems they dont want to hold air pressure now. I removed my dust caps and a bit of fluid was on top of the fork. It could be the upper o-ring also, but is it a common problem to have the air valves leak? Also is there a way...
