steering

Went out for a short ride today and noticed that after accelerating and letting off the throttle there was quite a bit of wobble in the front end. It only happened if I was going more than 40 mph before letting off the throttle. Not sure what is causing this...any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I have searched the service manual and didn't find it. Can anyone tell me what the size of the wrench needed for the steering crown(bolt on top of the trees). I think I have the right name. I would rather not use a large cresent wrench if I can one the right size.

The worse part was getting the races in and out. Inserting the bottom race was the big pain because of the way it sits. We improvised a tool for that one, a three d-cell mag light that was already broken. Worked perfectly. :)

all the instructions i see for torquing the steering head bearings call for the bike to be on the center stand, and handlebars removed. is it possible to do it while the bike is just sitting there. I dont have a center stand, but my new to me vmax needs some torquing. any ideas?
