1986 Water pump rebuild?

GM everyone, noticed the other day a few drops of coolant leaking out of the weep hole. Any helpful tips would be much appreciated. Bought the rebuild kit from Partzilla and have the tec. manual in hand. I
have rebuilt many a water pump over the years (Boomer) but this will be my first Vmax, looking to rebuild this weekend.

One more question, as I see there is an oil seal in the water pump do I need to drain the oil out before the rebuild is started? Also, should I apply a gasket sealer to the main gasket, or apply dry?

Check the elevation of the oil in the sight glass, with the bike on the side stand...it should be below the water pump.
