Hello,

I am new to the forum. Recently i bought a 1997 vmax with 26miles. I love the bike.

When i bought the bike the clutch was slipping and the clutch was making a whining noise.

I tought with replacing all the clutch plates the noise would stop.

After installing the clutch plates and bleeding the system the clutch is not slipping anymore.

Only the whining sound stays. In neutral gear you hear the sound, with revving the sound increases.

The sound disapears when driving in all gears and engage the clutch an release gas.

Maybe someone of the forum can help me. Watch the youtube video for the sound.

Greetings from holland.

You know about using a stethoscope or just a long-handled blade screwdriver to your ear, to try and determine what part of the bike is making the sound? Place the probe or the blade end on the engine case where you suspect the noise is coming from, move the probe/blade end around to identify where you hear the sound the loudest. Report back.
