Hi there.

Test rode a 1999 max yesterday and the bloody thing was heating up like crazy.

i live in dubai and the temperature right now is around 90 and goes up to about 120 in the summer.

How does a vmax do in the hot?

You might check the collant levels, under the faux tank white plastic container behind the air box.

Was your test ride in town or open road?

In this kind of weather you need either a manual fan switch or a Nissan Sentra 1988 thermo switch together with checking coolant level more frequent, max likes it when it gets hot but with weather in Dubai it gets desert hot with the air still.

Does just fine, In the Houston area it's 95 or better all summer long......
Firefly's right about the fan switch...The stock fan comes on too late.....
Some might disagree....

On the open road the Max should NOT overheat unless it has a cooling problem. Be careful.

Remember if its that hot now imagine summer, 110* is not uncommon in Dubai! I've been in weather like this where you feel no oxygen to breath, its as if standing in front of an oven. A fan manual switch will help a lot though you can't be wearing shorts as the fan will blow even hotter air on your legs!, use good oil and keep cooling system in top shape and that goes for any bike or car in this kind of weather.
