Hmm, I wonder, has anyone seen any conversions of the front end of the Gen II to see if it would work for the Gen I? being an 18" front tire, uh, just mite work

Save your sheckels and buy the whole Gen II.

I have done that for a customer before and even have a setup available on hand for the whole front/rear using an inverted set with gen 2 wheel and gen 2 rear with 240 setup. Another setup with gen 2 front end and standard size 200 gen 2 rear wheel. On the second setup i'd suggest to fab up a different light then the last customer did (I didn't have a spare gen 2 light and didn't take the time to fab up the brackets to hold the original gen 1 light).
