Hello Vmaxers i have been looking at a gents bike his bike wont start compression fine and so is fuelling no spark.

I have checked the following;

Pick Up Coil - Measures 94 ohms which is in spec
Wiring from the pick up coil to the CDI has continutiy
Stator and pic up physically look good.
Primary and secondary Windings in the 4 ignition coils measure correctly
Side stand switch ok
clutch switch ok
ignition switch ok
kill switch seems ok cycles V boost on and off when used (Not checked with a meter)

All other functions work on the bike correctly

It seems to be ether the Diode block or the CDI

Also it sparks once when the kill switch is used.

Any one have any other ideas ?

That is a strange statement. Please expand what you are describing. The Kill Switch is a disconnect. Why would there be spark when you activate that switch? I would look into the control pod wiring behind the Kill Switch.

That's normal. When you first turn the key, power goes directly to the ignition coils and not from the ignitor/CDI.

Once started, coils are fired when the ignition drops drops the ground.
