Does anyone have one ?
I'm after a few measurements before i buy one.
Got some ideas about how to sort it (already done similar mod on another bike).

Ok...got a result....found someone parting out remains of a written off FJR1300......the bits didn't sell on eBay so I've scored a good 30,000k's arm, shaft and diff for $75 AU.

That's cheaper than the diff alone from most wreckers so I can play around with arm and if it's scrapped no big loss....and i have a spare 3" over shaft for a custom arm.....looks like 'win win' to me :)

Ps...not dismissing the experts on here....just wanna play....

So far the biggest obvious hurdle is the pivot set up...going to investigate either steel work on the frame to support the arm or maybe a large round billet and make a new front tube with a hole for the UJ.
Found some stainless steel uj's too....mmmm

Sharky,

If I remember correctly it also needs to shift to the left :ummm:

Here's how a guy put one into an XS1100, they have a similar setup to Max I believe

Ok.....found some time to play today. ...
I trimmed the right side of the arm back to the bearing...this gave me about 6mm movement to the right side.
I have found a 52x26x10 bearing that, once sleeved to spindle size will give me the other 5mm to the right.
This will allow the shaft to line up spot on.
As the UFO wheel has offset corrected I can just put max diff on and bingo.. :)
Hardest bit will be the steel work as per xs1100 thread.

just hope my ali tank still fits.

how are you going to mount the shock as per fjr through the middle of the swing arm or on the side because ive been wondering how to do the
low-rider thing for ages I was going to use my vmax arm notched and braced and put a hayabuse mono shock up the middle

I'm sticking with twin shock mate...no room for mono shock with the under seat fuel tank.

You can still go monoshock if you wish its a question of geometry. I've been perusing (i like this word) the web on that matter and the pro-link setup fancies me a lot, or a underslung setup would work as well

Made the mounting bracket....amazing what you can do with a pillar drill and some router cutters.
