Better cap for Coolant overflow tank (Gen 1)

I noticed today (was pointed out by a fellow vmax owner) that my cap had been glued back together... I fiddled with it and of course the top came off lol. I am regluing for now. Before I spend $25 shipped for another stock cap, is there a better alternative that won't seperate? The fellow vmax rider said his didn't he same thing.

The best way (IMO) to stop that happening is not to over tighten it.

The cap seperate at the very top... Like some on sliced thenop 1/64 off with a razor... Wasn't cracked from over tightening (I don't think anyways)... Looks more like a design flaw or build issue. I reglued it for now but will order a new cap if I can't find something different

It happened to mine also, I replaced it with the cap from an antifreeze gallon, it has worked for years.

you can reinforce the repair by wrapping a bit of strong material around the cap and soaking in superglue or fibreglass resin
