Can pull the clutch in and start the bike.
The only way now, is it has to be in neutral.
Should I be looking at the kick stand switch as the culprit?

The following conditions apply:
1 - Transmission in neutral side stand down - engine will start
Retract side-stand and select gear engine keeps running
2 - Transmission in gear side-stand up and clutch pulled in - engine will start

What you are saying is that it won't start in gear with the clutch pulled in?

In that case I'd be checking the clutch switch and. or wiring.

My apologies for the confusion.
Yes, with the clutch in, the bike will not start.
Guess I'll take a look at the clutch switch.
Many thanks.

Mine was just a little contact cleaner needed for the 2 wires that plug into it. Then a little dielectric grease.
