"The lawsuit seeks unspecified financial damages. It argues that the legally purchased AR-15 used by Adam Lanza in the attack should never have been sold because it had no reasonable civilian purpose." This statement is sickening. The judge that let this proceed should be gone. Your opinion does not supercede the 2nd amendment.

So, the gun was purchased legally, and then STOLEN and used in the commission of a felony, and the gun manufacturer is responsible?:confused2:

I don't know how big Bushmaster is, but I would imagine that many in the firearm industry would be willing to help them out. As well as the NRA.

But, but, but.......I thought I read somewhere that the stolen AR-15 Lanza had with him remained in the trunk of his car while he performed mass shooting inside that school with his pistols. Did I remember that incorrectly? Or are there different versions telling different stories of what he used inside the school?

Here's a list of the Lanza arsenal I found with a quick search of the interweb. Perhaps one of the weapons Lanza actually took to school that fateful day is considered to be of the AR-15 style?:

Recent tests performed by the ATF reveal the possibility that the Lanza AR-15 may have actually driven the car to the school that morning.....:blink000:

LOL....I can believe that narrative has actually been said. :rofl_200:

Totally ridiculous to go after a manufacturer for what this person did.

If this is allowed, what is next? Can I sue GM if some douche with a fart can exhaust runs my dog over in his Chevy Cobalt?

I will give credit to Bernie Sanders for saying this should not be allowed. One of the few things I've heard him say that makes sense!

Theres always a legal team with no scruples ready to file suits like this, a little unsettling for a judge to allow it to go on but what would set a very bad precedent is if the plaintiffs prevailed. It's actually healthy for someone to try this occasionally and be struck down, it reminds others that would bring about such frivolous lawsuits to just make the leap to accept responsibility or place it where it is due.

Always remember: In most legal proceedings, there are at least 3 members of the same Bar Association present. The judge is one of them. If he makes cases go away faster, another member of the Bar Assoc stands to lose out on money/billable hours etc... There's no incentive for him to do that, and he'd most likely hear about it at the golf course later.

I'm hoping the judge is just making the person behind the suit waste their money. Bushmaster should countersue and add defamation of character, slander, etc. Putting the asshole in debt for the rest of his life would be a fitting outcome.

I do like how some other countries make the LOSER pay......it cuts down on frivolous lawsuits.

I couldn't read the blue text easily, so I re-printed it for more-legible viewing:

If Bushmaster gets sued then the bullet mfg should too . Did he carry the handgun in a holster ? Lawsuit . Did he have a scope attached to any weapon ? Lawsuit . What kind of gas was in the car he used ? Lawsuit . What station was on the radio in said car ? Lawsuit . This is so devoid of common sense at this point it's laughable . :confused2:

If only one of these defectives would visit a courthouse next time there's a mass shooting on the agenda.. ( it is , after all , a gun-free zone )..:worthy: A couple of dozen less lawyers would be a good start , as the joke goes...:punk:
