COPS Mod question about the rubber snubber

Wanted to do the COPS Mod. Got the COPs and the harness to mod but was wondering how folks are dealing the the rubber plug wire snubber that holds the plug wire firm. The COPs require a bigger hole. thought about just cutting it out but don't want to do trial and error on the only 4 I have.
The bike is a 98 if that matters.

I just popped my piece out. (the piece that the spark plug wire fits thru) I still have my pieces, and have thought about modding the hole, so it looks more factory.

I did the same popped it out and saved it !!

OK here is what I came up with. Used a little silicon grease. Will have to watch it to see how the rubber deals with the heat.

Should work just fine. Make sure your plug well drain holes are clear so any rain or wash water will drain quickly.
